Two episodes in and I'm having such a blast. Titus doing Lemonade was everything i could have dreamed it to be.

I felt like this took a little while to kick into gear, but once it did it was very good. I don't think it was quite up to the hilarious standards of the first two seasons, but it was enjoyable for sure. I was disappointed when the last episode ended and I new I'd have to wait a year for more. I guess giving us a whole Season to binge on at once does have its drawbacks.

Yeah, I thought it was fine enough, but it felt so much weaker than the first two seasons. The Titus parts are mostly funny but he was really laying it on thick with the man-child thing. Episode 5 had to have been my favorite, though. LOVED the mini-crossover with Orange is the New Black.

I'm just over halfway through and I'm liking it more than the second season, but it's a bit slow going. Jacqueline still feels out of place and the transition from Kimmy's employer to friend wasn't all that smooth to me. There have been quite a few laugh out loud moments though. Titus has been a blast.

Just finished this and I don't see what everyone else sees in it. I keep giving it a chance with each new season, but I've only laughed out loud maybe a handful of times over the course of three seasons. Tituss Burgess is fantastic, as is Ellie Kemper (and hell, even Jane Krakowski finally showed some depth with this new season), but the acting overall doesn't save the atrocious writing and cardboard direction. Would love to understand the other side of the coin here.

Would love to understand the other side of the coin here. i have a hard time understanding Fey's popularity myself, her writing does nothing. I mean, I love Mean Girls as much as the next person, but at least that film gave personality to its characters and allowed them to drive the story forward through their conflicts. With this show, all of its messy plot devices are either shoved in our face or masked behind "witty" one-liners - there's no in between. Plus they can't seem to figure out what they want to do with any of their four main characters (I feel like with each new season, they're suddenly taking ten steps back or ruining their current position in like a day). Jacqueline divorces and goes home to her parents, then after the start of season two, she's already leaving home and coming back to New York to find a new rich husband. I felt by the end of this season she had a decent character arc, but now I'm sure they'll ruin it within an episode come next season. Kimmy goes from being an assistant, to Uber driver, to student with full ride at Columbia (in which the whole rowing sport isn't brought into play ever again), to being kicked out, to being a crossing guard, to not... It's all a mess. Titus is a mess too, but at least that's part of his character. Still doesn't help when the writing doesn't seem to want to advance them whatsoever. And Lillian keeps just getting stuck in her old ways over and over (read: Titus). So yeah, can't say I'm a fan. Keep giving it a chance with each new season, but never gets better and never moves forward. Would love to hear opinions on the other end. I've also never seen 30 Rock so I'm not sure if that has any effect on those who do love it.

The trailer...
Looks ok I guess, but hopefully not an indication of the best of what's to come.

So I watched four episodes of this yesterday and was disappointed to see that it is only a six episode run, but then I hoped for quality over quantity, and so far I seem to have gotten it. It's a return to form so far.

I liked what's come from this season so far, especially the Party Monster doc episode. Sucks that it's ending in January, but I think it's had an excellent run and brought us characters as unforgettable as the 30 Rock gang.

So this was a strong six episode run for sure and it was the show back to somewhere like its original level. I'm sad to see it's ending with the second half of Season 4, but then again going out on a high is always a good thing, so lets hope it does.

I liked it. It's pretty hilarious often enough. So damn stupid to have a several month gap between halves of a season of a show you are supposed to binge watch, but at least it seemed like the main plot of the first half ended.
The documentary episode was way out of place and a waste. It was sort of funny at times, but was a disservice, considering...what is this doing in this show? It's taking away from what I actually came to see. They should have made it half as long and interject Kimmy and co. scenes in between.

I'm with you on the doc episode, it broke the flow of the Season and was a weak spot in an otherwise return to form.

Anyone already caught up on the final half of the season? What are your thoughts?

I watched this a couple of weeks ago.
It turned out to be rather solid end to the show, and carried on the return to form that part one of season 4 mostly turned out to be. Also, it actually featured a Zachary Quinto performance that I enjoyed, rather than hated or tolerated.
It really is good that they closed this out on a high, as that first Season was an absolute classic, and the second was top notch stuff too. It really is just that stinky turd season that puts a dampener on the legacy.
