Starting this one off as I don't see a thread already.
I just got back from it, and as I expected I didn't like it nearly as much as the first but I liked plenty enough about it and overall it's a more than good movie.
Possibly minor spoilers ahead, but I tried to avoid them.
The initial problem for Deadpool 2 is that now that the origin story is out of the way, they actually had to come up with some sort of decent plot, and while the one they went for is fairly trite and cliche, it is serviceable and does work for the most part. The film even tries on several occasions to be emotionally resonant, a little to hard in fact and that would be my most significant complaint about it. I don't want forced high emotion from my superhero movies, especially not from Deadpool; from whom I am more than happy to receive barely more than a healthy dose of violence, explosions, bad language, pop culture references and sass. I got all that good stuff from Deadpool 2 or course, but I also got too much sugary sentiment intermingled with it and it only worked part of the time. You can try to juxtapose sentiment with sarcasm as much as you want, but when the sentiment is this cheap, you are still left with cheap sentiment. Then again, the action was class, the jokes were often brilliant and when Mr. Pool was firing on all cylinders the film ruled, and fortunately it was firing about three quarters of the time. 7.5/10
Major Pros - The mid credits scene, which was probably the best one in the film. - A much better villain than the first one, and we also had the advantage of the villain not being played by possibly the most terrible actor in the world like in the first film. Cable was great, I preferred him to Thanos overall. - Julian Dennison was boss, this kid is great. - Eddie Marsan, cause Eddie Marsan. - A big cameo fairly early on. - The X-Force recruitment scenes.
Major Cons - Some of the more comedic dialogue seemed a little forced and just flowed less smoothly and believably than in the first film. - Domino was kinda annoying, and I don't think it was the actress, it was lame writing. - Weasel was kinda annoying, and I don't think it was the actor, it was lame writing. - They may have overdone the references to other superhero universes a bit.

The kid annoyed the living shit out of me and the serious scenes didn't really fit in there but it was entertaining and the actors did a great job. I laughed out loud few times. I liked mid credits but imho the opening credits were even better, that Dion song is gorgeous!

This one was a huge step down from the first one for me. I had always wanted a Deadpool movie since long before the X-Men: Origins movie ruined him, and the first one finally gave a taste of what was great about him. The reason the first worked so well is because it was simple but effective.
This one, on the other hand, was anything but simple and far less effective. Even the jokes felt like they were trying too hard, but none of them were actually edgy (save the parachute scene - if more of the film were like that, it would've been brilliant). It shouldn't be the case in a Deadpool movie where I'm not laughing as much as I should. So, big disappointment here.
I will say, Brolin was killin' it though. Wish there was more of him, and more of him just on his own without Reynolds butting in all the time. Between his Cable and his Thanos, it's hard to decide which I liked more, but he's doing a great job (if nothing particularly outstanding). Also really disappointed that they didn't crack more jokes about his playing Thanos. Like, all they did was just throw in the name (not even a joke about how both have super arms?). Oh well. That's just a personal issue that's not going to make a difference on my opinion; however, it does show the lack of effort they put into the jokes I think. Too many Wolverine jokes, not enough of everything else.
I did really like the mid-credits scenes though. Seemed like that's where all their best material was but they couldn't find a way to fit it into the movie itself.

Meh it was just okay (maybe I was expecting too much ) Really liked the 1st one a LOT more. Gotta agree with the OP that the comedic dialogue flowed a lot better in the original film. Oh well , it was still pretty entertaining overall. 6.5/10 borderline 7/10 due to Brolin's awesomeness . btw I did love the Brad Pitt cameo (as the Vanisher) haha

I mostly liked it and would call it a slight improvement over the first. If the first was a 7.5/10 for me, then this is a 7.75/10. The humor is hit-or-miss for me but humor is subjective so I won’t go too hard on that. The audience I was in was definitely having a good time and I laughed out loud a fair bit, particularly the sky-diving sequence, the mid-credits scene, and some of Reynolds’ one-liners. The action scenes were more exciting here and I think you can thank David Leitch for that. Cable is likewise a far more interesting antagonist than Francis in the first one. Brolin has been on a roll lately, Reynolds is still perfect as Deadpool, and I really enjoyed Zazie Beetz as well. Karan Soni’s performance as Dopinder brought quite a few laughs too. Lots of movie references too which I found a lot of fun. Also, those very subtle cameos were fantastic.
Like the first one, I thought it still suffered from some tonal issues. The attempt to make a humorous opening credits sequence after the scene that preceded it just didn’t work for me and while I definitely enjoyed plenty of the meta-humor, it still felt like sometimes they were using the self-awareness to get away with bad writing. Does bad writing really stop being bad just because a character acknowledges it? Very disappointed by how sidelined Megasonic teenage warhead was here.
Overall, I had a fun time and it largely met my expectations. It probably won’t win over anyone who didn’t like the first one but should be satisfying for most fans.

Do you get paid based on the number of clicks/views? I'm a freelance writer, but yes. It's how I make a lot of my income currently.

So if I just click the link, close it without reading the review, rinse and repeat, you'll get a fuckton of money? Or do they have a thing in place to detect that sort of stuff and also IPs?

I love the shit out of it. It's funnier, wilder, more insane, and it even carries emotional weight and character development for Deadpool. I loved Dennison and Brolin. Beetz is good too but I didn't think she had enough to do to make much of an impression. I felt it lacked a strong villain, even more so than the first film. Some jokes definitely don't land, but most of them do for me anyway. MAJOR LIKES - As I mentioned, Brolin as Cable and Dennison as Russell stood out for me as far as the new cast goes. Dopinder's significantly expanded role works well and he's got some of the funnier bits. - Reynolds proves his greatness with the right blend of the smartass comedy but also his emotional moments, showing Deadpool isn't just a one-note wise-ass prick who's good at killing. That goes along with his development throughout the film in regards to his bonding with the other characters. - THAT CREDITS SCENE. I don't even wanna go into detail because people just HAVE to see it. GRIPES - Vanessa having even less of a role in this one than the first. I was definitely upset by her death, even if she does basically get saved at the end. I like to think she'll have a larger role in a potential third movie, and perhaps get her powers like in the comics. - X-Force. Sure, their whole deaths scene was hilarious, and I loved that one shot Brad Pitt cameo, but for all the hype, I think using them for at least one fight scene before having them all horribly killed off could have been cool. - The one gag near the end with Wade's death dragging out doesn't quite work out, but I do love "Tomorrow" being used as he leaps in front of the bullet. All in all, I loved damn near every minute of it, and I might even love it more than Avengers. It's probably my #4 so far this year.

Jeremy tried to fix the timeline by changing his 'Awesometacular' rating of Suicide Squad to 'Good time if you're drunk', like Deadpool did in this film. Clever and Funny.

I actually liked it better than the first (which I really enjoyed). It was funnier, more emotional, and the action sequences were much more more crisp. Like any other movie where the main focus is comedy, there were some jokes that fell flat. Mainly the one liners like “I should of worn my brown pants”. Which I never really found funny. When the gags hit, they hit hard though. The three funniest scenes have to be the skydiving scene (one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever watched, which also contains one of the great cameos), the scene where Deadpool has a ‘deformity’ at the old woman’s house (another one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever watched) and then the post credits.

I loathed the first film but this one was just miles better in pretty much every way. The first act did not impress me at all but the further the movie kept going, the more I found myself kinda enjoying it. By the end I was pretty much on board but there're still issues with it that I can't go past - the jarring tonal shifts, the attempts at seriousness, the boring shoving of family values down our throats. But it was mostly quite an enjoyable experience, overall pretty funny and entertaining. And I just can't stress enough how much this put the first one to shame. Much better shot, funnier, better side characters, better villain, better action.

Nastier, meaner and funnier than the first part. Full of great references. Almost every scene and spoken dialogues is a reference of pop culture. The action works perfectly, sometimes maybe a bit overloaded but they still did not forget about the story. And even if it wasn't Shakespeare it is exactly what you expect and want from a film like that. Almost a parody of all superhero films out there - but with some depths. Yes you've read correctly: Deadpool 2 does indeed have depths. Ryan Reynolds is great, no doubt, his performance is not refreshing or surprising as in the first part, but pretty much holds up to it. Josh Brolin's cast was a perfect gig for the film, especially considering his new found legacy with "Avengers". Good performance as well. Zazzie Beetz is also a wonderful addition and Brianna Hildebrand is always great to watch in that role. The soundtrack is an absolute blast and also there you find improvement from the first part, which already contained a nearly perfect soundtrack. David Leitch, who already delivered last years underrated action opera "Atomic Blonde" was the perfect choice for the direction. He understands to combine great choreographed action scenes with the ideal soundtrack. Cool cameos by Brad Pitt, Nicholas Hoult and especially Matt Damon to watch out for. 8/10
