I was surprised at how terrible it was, since I really liked District 9. Almost nothing of merit - kinda ugly visually, weak performances (from a decent cast), at times laughable dialogue. Just goes to show some nice ideas and a promising premise only get you so far when the execution isn't up to scratch. 3/10

I think it's decent, with Sharlto Copley being its major standout. It does pain me to say that Jodie Foster gives her worst performance in that movie, though. It's still a better movie than Chappie.

I thought it was okay. It's not nearly as dire as a lot of people make it out to be, but at the same time, it's nowhere near the level of District 9. I think it's a classic case of expectations riding too high on a filmmaker after a stunning debut, and when it didn't live up, people piled on it more than what necessary. It's imaginative, but at the same time clunky. Damon does it absolutely no favors; he is far too bland an actor to carry something like this. It doesn't help that the white savior criticism is pretty well justified. I also have no idea what Jodie Foster was doing. That said, Copley was great fun (as he always is) and he really sells the hell out of his character. But yeah, on the whole, it doesn't really work and there are a lot of glaring flaws, but it's not unwatchable as a lot of people say.

As some others have stated, it was decent enough (but not even close to being on the same level as D9) . The action sequences were pretty kick ass & I enjoyed Copley hamming it up as the psychopathic bad guy. and the part where he gets his entire face blown off & put back together was gnarly as hell Jodie was Razzie worthy though & no clue why they made her have an accent . I'll be generous and give it a 6.5/10 rating .

Silly, preachy, predictable.

It's okay, but the main message is really hammered in. At least we got a crazy performance from Copley though. - 6 / 10

It was not a disappointment and it was a solid popcorn entertainment and a smarter than average sci/fi film.

It's pretty bad. Probably a *1/2 rating from me.
And like jake said, whoever thought to have Jolie do a French accent... lol.

Copley is my win. The movie itself is terrible. So ham-fisted, on the nose, preachy and the visuals/stunts/action scenes aren't even enjoyable! Foster is hilariously bad. Goes from British, to French, to French Canadian, to weird American, I was waiting for Jamaican and was disappointing when it never came out What the hell was she thinking? One of the worst cases of a previous film being fantastic and the next project being pure shit.
