How is there no thread on this yet, people????!?!? So good! (Aside from Trish. It's one flaw. They really tried, but man ) it has no villainy villain, that's an inspired first for these shows. Also an inspired first is how unlike most of the Netflix Marvel seasons that lose so much steam in their third quarters this one starts out slow relying on the magic of Ritter's performance to do the trick, and then it picks up and pretty much never lets up all the way to the finish line. Show gets the follow up that Daredevil did not. One upped.

Ritter is amazing. She deserved better than this show. By the end, everything blends together, and it just loses its momentum. I haven’t watched S2 because 1 burned me out so much. Is it a step up?

I liked season 1, but I can absolutely understand why it put a lot of people of. This season is toned down a lot in terms of the madness of it all, it's far more personal and intimate. If that was the bombastic season they needed to break out and get people talking, this was the more heartfelt follow up to show they could get by without all the crazy. Ritter and McTeer are a hell of a duo.
