A lot of agreement with Johnny_Hellzapoppin for me, close to my favorite show of all time, second only to The Wire. I would also say the best episode (and the best episode of television in general) is "The Body". My second favorite is "Hush". It's one of the most rewatchable shows ever, so endlessly creative, so often hilarious and moving (at the same time even) and so thematically rich.

Man I love Buffy, and I always feel like I underrate it because it's my #11 favourite show. Maybe if I go back and watch some of it once again, it'll bump Deadwood or Game of Thrones out (the latter is slipping anyway).
As for favourite episodes: 1) "The Body" - I agree with others, the best episode of television ever made. 2) "Once More, With Feeling" - I always forget how powerful it is emotionally, as well as how fun it is. 3) "Passion" - So. Damn. Sad. 4) "The Gift" - the best of the grand finale episodes, though they're all great. 5) "Hush" - not as scary as people like to say, but so clever and at times hilarious (you know the scene). 6) "Earshot" - has a lot to say, and is also fun as hell. 7) "Villains" - Dark Willow was a complete badass. 8) "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" - probably the funniest, most enjoyable episode of the show. 9) "Who Are You" - Buffy and Faith acting as each other is priceless. 10) "Conversations with Dead People" - dark, kinda sad stuff.

Such a huge episode. It sort of set the scene in terms of character development for the last almost 40 episodes of the show. 4) "The Gift" - the best of the grand finale episodes, though they're all great. As much as I really love Season 6, if "The Gift" was the Series Finale, I'd have been fine with that. 5) "Hush" - not as scary as people like to say, but so clever and at times hilarious (you know the scene). I'd guess you mean the projector scene, cause that shit is hilarious. Emma Caulfield doing some full on Maggie Smith scene stealing. 6) "Earshot" - has a lot to say, and is also fun as hell. I don't think I've ever scene a better example of an important issue being talked about in an accessible and fun, but still highly impactful way. 8) "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" - probably the funniest, most enjoyable episode of the show. So glad to see another huge fan of this one. 9) "Who Are You" - Buffy and Faith acting as each other is priceless. I thought Gellar did fantastic playing Faith's persona and mannerisms, but I actually thought Dushku trying to be Buffy like was kinda weak work on her part. Still good episode overall.

Love it. I think my favourite single episode is probably Band Candy. Season 3 is the season that I probably like the most overall, while season 5 is very, very close behind, and probably has the best overall arc, and though I hate a lot of season 6 I think the last 3 episodes make up this absolutely amazingly enthralling little mini movie.

One of my favorite shows of all time. Season 2 and 3 were the ultimate. So many favorites from those seasons.
Innocence, Becoming Parts 1 & 2, The Wish, Consequences, The Prom, Graduation Parts 1 & 2 were my top favs.
Rate/vote above. List your episodes.

Agreed. Season 3 is the best overall, with 5 right behind, and as you said 5 has the best overall arc.

Season 2 is my favourite, but 3 and 5 are close behind. I actually love 6, and think it was just the right level of dark without becoming misery porn like Walking Dead. The Dark Willow arc was exciting and heartbreaking.

I wouldn't put Band Candy in my favourite episodes list, but it's the most nostalgic for me since it was the first episode I ever saw in full.
As for season 3, it's definitely the most consistent, but I prefer season 2. It had those episodes like Go Fish and Inca Mummy Girl, but it's highs were some of the best moments in TV history for me.

Never quite gotten the fuss over season 2. It definitely has incredible high points, but I seem to remember finding season 3 more consistently entertaining, a generally more polished show production wise, and though I'll always feel Buffy-Angel is number 1, and Buffy-Spike is just wrong... Was never actually a particularly big fan of their arc. Give me Harry Groener and Eliza Dushku any time.

Re-watched some old favourites: "Dopplegangland", "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered", "Phases", "Passion". Damn I love this show.

The show was good in quality based on the fact the Joss and co. had free range in delivery content. They didn't have The CW breathing down their neck for some ominous reason. And it was on before the merge, a lot of shows followed after Buffy/Angel/Smallville that were copying its format.

More re-watches must happen tonight in celebration. I've seen it countless times, but "Once More, With Feeling" is first in line.

Also, how would you guys rank the seasons? These always seem to be different for everyone.
I'd say:
1) Season 2 - 10/10 2) Season 3 - 10/10 3) Season 5 - 9.5/10 4) Season 6 - 9.5/10 5) Season 4 - 8.5/10 6) Season 7 - 7.5/10 7) Season 1 - 7.5/10
I absolutely love the top four to death. S4 is decent but very flawed (the whole Initiative arc was dull as fuck), 7 was kind of a slog but had some amazing episodes, and 1 was mainly just a campy, fun show that was struggling to figure out what it wanted to be.

I deeply enjoy all of the seasons and some of these might swap places according to my mood, but generally, my ranking would be:
Season 3 Season 5 Season 2 Season 4 Season 6 Season 7 Season 1

I'm a fan. The show's kind of inconsistent, even during the best seasons/arcs there are weak episodes, but the great stuff mostly overshadows that.
I'd rank the seasons like this:
Season 5 Season 2 Season 3 Season 7 Season 6 Season 4 Season 1
Seasons 5, 2, and 3 are a good deal above the rest IMO.
