Rekall, Rekall, RekallThis one is really tough as aside from 2011, every year ranges from great (2010, 2012, 2014, 2015 & 2016) to really, really great (2013 & 2017) So it has to be 2013 or 2017. I'm giving it to 2017, as in considering Robbie over Bullock, it has the better of the for want of a better word, lesser performances.

It's between '12 & '17, should've been '16 but streep puts a dent in that. I'' go w/ 2017

2012 is the best lineup they've had since 1962, where my top four (Wallis, Watts, Chastain and Riva) were nominated. Lawrence is fine as well, although a.) supporting and b.) she doesn't make my lineup. Every other year has at least one unworthy nominee.

They're mostly a mixed-bag. 2010 has Lawrence, Portman, Kidman and Williams who are all great, but Bening is the weak link. 2011 is the strongest year overall for female acting, but it's one of the worst line-ups. Mara is the only saving grace among four tepid performances. 2012 is overall strong, even I disagree a little with Watts and Wallis. 2013 is just like 2011, a great year with an awful bunch of Oscar nominees. Blanchett is all-time great and I don't mind Bullock in Gravity, but Adams is in a rare weak moment and I really don't hop into the Dench/Streep train that much. 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 are all very good and I wouldn't change them, even if some of my favorites have been snubbed. I really can't choose between them.

Really touch choice between 2010 and 2015 for me. Based on the aggregate quality of the performance it might be 2010 just because Portman wa so great with the rest of the lineup being solid. In 2015 you had the brutally tough Larson vs. Saoirse choice. Haven't seen enough from 2017 to consider it yet.
