Have you seen Güeros ? It's from the same guy who did Museo, I wonder if it also had the same smooth pacing or influences from frech new wave, which is what I loved the most about that film, although on twitter everybody was making comparisons to Rififi, Barely can wait !!
How's Wasikowska in the very trashed Damsel, ha ?

Who do you think are winning the prizes? The ceremony was held about a hour ago but with two exceptions (Museo, Isle of Dogs ) none of the films he listed won anything, that's why I didn't asked him about them, haha

Mia Wasikowska was fine in Damsel she had a few good scenes for sure, but also not up to her usual level.

i don't know how to rank movies that i haven't seen, i hope Don't Worry He Wont Get Far on Foot is not a disappointment It's not Gus Van Sant's best work but its a fine film. What surprised me is that Jonah Hill > Joaquin Phoenix in it!

Who do you think are winning the prizes? They have been announced already. Isle of Dogs won Best Direction, Touch Me Not the Golden Bear. (haven't seen that one)

Hi, Alex! Would you mind expanding your thoughts on this one? How were the performances?

Hi, Alex! Would you mind expanding your thoughts on this one? How were the performances? Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment and also one of the most poorly reviewed films of the competition. It had a lot of potential because the story is great but the film had a few major problems. They had so many twists and turns and got lost with them so a lot of unfinished story lines were the result … also the lead protagonist is very unsympathetic and hard to relate to . Gaspard Ulliel's very wooden and boring performance did not help to make that any better. Isabelle Huppert was good. She obviously had a lot of fun playing that femme-fatale kind of role but she also can do better. All in all its not an awful film but its one that does not use its entire potential at all and does not really focus.

I'm dying to see the Utoya movie. Its a great one, really disturbing. The director made you literarily feel like you are int he middle of everything thanks to the perfect camera work and one-shot style. It really blew me away and when I left the cinema I had to settle myself, something that rarely happens these days.
