The script was excellent, and I was super-stoked for it when Takashi Miike and Tom Hardy were attached to it. As it stands, it still looks intriguing.

And I'm not too crazy about the color-grading or the rhythm of the trailer, but I'm hoping it's not reflective of the finished product. It really is reminiscent of The Yakuza, just much more brutal.

Man, I wish literally anyone besides Leto was starring in this.
I'm still slightly interested.

There's no way it can be worse than Paradox and Mute....right?

Looks okay. Maybe could be a decent crime film. I definitely would’ve preferred Takashi Miike and Tom Hardy though.

jfc maybe South Park was right when they made fun of Netflix for basically "green lighting " everything that comes their way . I'll still probably get around to watching this sometime this weekend and decide for myself but as a Netflix customer , this is pretty frustrating. (Bumbray of Joblo thought it was decent enough and I usually see eye to eye with him regarding films so thats promising at least)

I honestly wish someone would have used the budget for this to remake Crying Freeman instead. I quite like the B-movie Mark Dacascos version of Crying Freeman, but with a bigger budget and first rate actors, Crying Freeman could be a huge thing today.
I do think there is an unspoken critical agenda against original Netflix movies. With the odd "prestige" exception (festival accquisitions like Mudbound) they mostly seem to all be judged on a much steeper curve than a lot of equivalent cinema releases. A Wrinkle In Time as a Netflix release would probably be on 0% on Rotten Tomatoes right now.LOL!
Haven't even seen Bright, but it honestly looks no worse than a lot of Will Smith's high concept sci-fi/fantasy actioners. And audience scores seemed to indicate people enjoyed it. Yet critics went after the thing like it was Gigli.
The Netflix agenda is a threat to theatrical release as we know it, so I can see why movie critics are trying to protect the sanctity of the theatrical experience with their regular Netflix movie pans. Feels designed to make fillmakers think twice about taking their feature film projects to Netflix. Imgaine putting in years of work to a movie, and just to see it die in one weekend with terrible reviews like Mute or Cloverfield Paradox.
