One of the better rom-coms of the last decade with a terrific cast. Very funny film in general.

Very good film for the most part, but the leap it takes in the last 20 minutes or so, turning Carell into the films villain of sorts is kinda stupid. In a film like this, where all the characters are somewhere on the spectrum of horrible / unlikable and dysfunctional people, the Carell character almost the least of it.

I usually don't like these kind of films (rom comedies ) but this one surprised me and thought Gosling was a stone cold pimp in it (then again , he's a pimp in everything ) . 7/10

It is not just funny, it actually deals with a serious subject and deals with it in a very good and mature way, and it delivers very well.

I agree with Gosling being at his pimpiest. He could have convinced lesbian nuns to have sex with him. Oozes cool, sex appeal.
I recall thinking it was funny and glad it wasn't a try-hard comedy. A nice ensemble and is watchable, but above average.

I find the Gosling character to be a hideous piece of crap and I'd have to rate it as his worst performance.

It’s a movie that got worse for me with each rewatch. The writing is fucking atrocious, with “gems” like “Conan Ginger Junk O’Brien”, the asshole monologue, and...UGH...”My lips are arf arf arf!...Seals. My lips are seals.” Also, the fact that we’re supposed to root for the kid despite being a stalker/entitled prick is ridiculous, and the whole payoff of that is not only creepy as shit, but it’s also super corny. This film and Focus are the reasons I refuse to watch This Is Us, as I know the two goons behind those movies are responsible for that turd. Although I did watch the pilot and knew what I was in for when it began with a FUCKING FACEBOOK STATISTIC.

It's decently made with some fun performances, but holy crap, that big monologue speech at the end of it is one of the most annoying, overbearing and cliched ways to end a film. Like, would parents really be okay with this big, stupid speech about love at that ceremony? I hate the ending so much that I honestly barely even remember the rest of the film (I only saw it once when it came out).
