I enjoy it but I've gotta admit it's been a while since I've seen the first one. Hot Shots! Part Deux, though, I watch that whenever it's on and it gets a laugh from me every damn time.

As far as spoof movies go, it's one of the better ones. Still about half way through you kinda get tired of the same iteration of the same 3 jokes/gags over and over.

The sequel is much better.

It's a good, funny movie. I also prefer the sequel.

It's fine but Part Deux is the real deal.

I am pleasantly surprised that the consensus here agrees with me that Part Deux is better.

Turn off your intelligence, leave your common sense and thinking cap at the door, and just enjoy. If you like satire, this film is well worth your time.

I love those old '80s/'90s parody films in the vein of Abrahams/Zucker. Strange that out of all his serious roles, Charlie Sheen would best fit in the world of self-aware comedy but after Leslie Nielsen, Anna Faris, and Lloyd Bridges he's the best there is (special mention to Val Kilmer, though he didn't get the chance to do much beside Top Secret!).
I haven't seen this one in a long while, but I remember watching the second one religiously growing up. They're all due for re-watches, that's for sure.

Yeah, I much prefer the sequel. The only bit that really makes me laugh out loud in this one is the milkman gag.

It's fun, especially as a parody of action films of the 80's. The sequel takes things up to a ten full notch however.

Very funny! Funniest moment in the 1st is the army drill when the soldiers are marching to the "Brady Bunch" theme song. That scene always makes me LOL even when I think of it!
