Thoughts? Also, category placements for Hall, Johansson and Bardem?

An important and quite good late career Woody Allen picture (along with Match Point, Blue Jasmine and Midnight in Paris) that is deceptively complicated - the voice overs are in effect like postcard level banalities while what we see is more sad and self-delusional.
All involved are Supporting imo, the entire cast is appealing and winning.

Love it. Incredibly entertaining, and Cruz is the ultimate Mediterranean femme fatale. Her hatred of foreigners, her disdain of English and Chinese... "you think that's pretty?" Glorious stuff.

I really like it, but to my surprise ( at least fom people I know ) not an easy film to get into probably because on the surface it feels like a light romantic comedy but as said above I also think is quite sad and intense of course there are laughs and some great lines but there's more depth to it and the four actors are great ( the three you mention to me are lead ) but Cruz stands out more, she's amazing, so many things at once. I adore her performance.

Has the glow of being one of Allen's better efforts of the new millennium, but I wouldn't call it a great movie. Reasonably smart and diverting.
I have Hall pretty firmly in lead and everyone else in supporting. And Cruz's win is still balls.

This film is not much if you sit down and analyze it, but when you're watching it, it keeps your attention. Overall it is so beautifully presented for eyes and our viewing experience on the whole as well.

I don't fully understand what you mean with Mediterranean femme fatale, but I think that title is still owned by Margarita Carmen Cansino aka Rita Hayworth.
