When it's good, it's really great... but sadly there are a lot of little annoying things sprinkled throughout that really add up. Perhaps the biggest thing that stands out is the ending (the results from the investigation) drags out and even though it tells the audience every little detail, it's still full of holes.

My favorite Spike Lee joint, hands down.

Has some really good parts, but also way too long, you're supposed to sort of go with it because it's too cool for school but not really worth investing in that much.
One of Spike Lee's better films and it's still not really that good.

Spike Lee is such a strange hit or miss for me. For such a passionate, and almost inflammatory, black filmmaker, I think his best movies are those that focus on white characters: 25th Hour, Summer Of Sam, and Inside Man indeed. The only exception to this rule is Do The Right Thing, imo.

I really dug it (haven't seen it in forever though). Probably rate it as a solid 7/10 I remember it being a very clever Spike Lee joint and really thought Clive Owen's career was gonna take off after that year (2006) but no . Now Clive is playing 2nd fiddle in films to the likes of Dane DeHaan & Cara freakin Delevingne in Valerian . smh oh what could have been.

It's a damn shame too because I think his performance in Closer is one of the best of the entire decade.

Clive really reminds me of Cary Grant (but with more of an edge). Just sucks that he isn't as in demand like he once was.

This is a smart, well-acted and entertaining film that is thoroughly enjoyable and well worth a look.

I'm ashamed to say that I actually haven't watched a single episode of that show . Really need to get on that ASAP cause I dig Clive & of course Soderbergh .

It's one of the best things Soderbergh's ever done, the cast is amazing, and Cliff Martinez's score is one of the best ever for a TV show imo.

Great heist film. Denzel and Owen play off each other really well too, and how they set up the robbery is quite ingenious. One of Lee's best films.

Around Closer, I had Clive Owen pegged to be a lot bigger than he ended up being. I thought this is our next leading man. I thought he was going to be what Hollywood failed at trying to get Jude Law to be.
