Easily one of my favorite films of that decade (its either a 2005 or 2006 film, can't remember) . Hillcoat did a superb job directing the film (he is such an under appreciated director) . Really capturing the Aussie landscape . Brutal at times but sensational all around . The whole cast was aces (esp Pearce , Watson & Winstone ) . 9/10

My Best Picture winner of 2005, also taking prizes for Best Actor (Winstone), Best Supporting Actress (Watson), Original Screenplay, Cinematography and Song, as well as a slew of other nominations. Grungy, filthy, bloody work -- it's no surprise Nick Cave wrote this, as it is utterly suffused with his bleak, ballsy outlook. And yet it's beautiful beyond belief.

The story was intriguing and interesting and ended on an exciting yet dark note.
