For me, I know it's cliche and a fan favorite, but A Night at the Opera. It's such a perfect album to me and not just because of Bohemian Rhapsody, but the whole flow.

Not a fan of the band but I thought that "Queen at the Beeb" record, which I guess was later expanded as "On Air" (6 CD's I'm only referring to that first cd) was really interesting - all songs from the first album except 1 and all sounding better, and lean and energetic and pretty exciting, the closest they ever came to Punk - especially Keep Yourself Alive.

Don't really see how it can be anything except A Night at the Opera. One of the most perfect rock albums ever and really their only great one, they were generally more of a "song" band.

I always heard that criticisms towards them, but honestly I'd say that applies mostly to their 80s and onwards. Maybe late 70s. However, aside from ANATO, I also think Queen II (which BTW, has almost zero songs on any greatest hits albums), Sheer Heart Attack (which is like their pre-Night album), and to some extent, A Day at the Races are some Grade A albums.

Jazz and Day at the Races are good. I know a lot of people single out Sheer Heart Attack as their other great album, but personally I'd say it falls into the category of most their other ones with a few great songs and that being it. Never heard Queen II.
