Yeah, sorta. It's a perfectly enjoyable movie with a great performance from Ronan, but there's nothing really outstanding about the filmmaking. I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that Greta Gerwig was nominated over the likes of Guadagnino and Villeneuve.

Why don’t you trade me then? You can have Greatest Showman.

I guess a bit. I liked it but don't understand why so many people seem so blown away.

I don't like it, but it's very much a film that will inspire strong feelings one way or the other.

It's wholly uninteresting and doesn't do, say, or symbolize anything that hasn't been done before or better.
Ronan is good, but I didn't take to her character. Laurie is much better, and grew on me a little bit on reflection, but I didn't care for her character either. Neither of them incite any passion or the desire to root for them, so I couldn't get attached to their performances so much. I would only nominate them to fill out a 5-nominee category.
It's genuinely not funny apart from a few times that deserve a snicker. I'm sure the screenplay is technically good but the movie felt like it was self-directed, rather than had any craft behind it. I'm going to go there and say if this was directed by a man, I don't think people would have cared enough if it hadn't been nominated for director or screenplay.
Edge of Seventeen was way better on all accounts (though I didn't like the ending).

Might make my top 10 - I have a lot to see, but it's very slight, so the level of acclaim relative to the finished product (which is indeed very good) is skewed. To me this year was about 3 Billboards and then Phantom Thread (which like all PTA's films is flawed but the great stuff is very great stuff) and everything else is overrated

It's a decent 6/10, but nothing more than that.

Nope, saw it earlier today and it's in my Top 5 of the year.

I miiight've said yes up until the 60-minute mark, but to me the third act justifies the hype.

Hell yes. It wouldn't be getting so much acclaim if it wasn't directed by a woman, and the current political climate has helped with the critical reception and wards trajectory, too. Not one element of this film was outstanding.

I sort of liked it, but it was at 100% on RT and people got PO'd when it got bumped down. I would have to say yes.

Yeah, but it's pretty harmless. I'm glad most people connected strongly to it, but I wish it had left more of an impression on me.
