Just watched Fifteen Million Merits (S1, E2) on Black Mirror and Kaluuya has a fascinating, complex role (that apparently got him cast in Get Out too - who knew, well not me anyway).
What are some other works of the nominees - in any field that you'd recommend? The less well known, even better........

Gary Oldman, Mean TimeVery early Oldman performance in a fairly early Mike Leigh made-for-tv. Oldman isn't in it that much, but his part is memorable enough, and its fun the see him pre Sid and Nancy. Its also a fairly decent film, even as a lesser Leigh. Sally Hawkins, All or Nothing
Mike Leigh again . I don't know if this one is underseen or just under discussed, but Hawkins is great in it.

Margot Robbie was in Pan-Am, which she wasn't memorable in, but Karine Vanasse was divine in it, and everyone should watch it for her. Also, Sally 'Awkins in maybe Mike Leigh's most underseen recent movie, All or Nothing. Magic.
Also, that episode of Black Mirror was laaaaaame. Okay, dude, you read Brave New World. Big whoop.

Oldman and Roth are just a magical duo, and unless they did something and I just missed it they need to round out their pair of movies together with a trilogy capper. Both need to direct again too, someone needs to keep Ray Winstone in work.

Sally Hawkins: The Phone Call. It's far and away my favorite performance of hers.

Even though he didn't act in it, I recommend Gary Oldman's directed Nil By Mouth.

Loved that film . One of Madeleine Stowe's best performances I know, right? She's brilliant in it. Still waiting for her movie comeback Movies , TV , Theater ,....ANYTHING ! I would also choose her to be the next primary host on TCM (as a replacement the late Robert Osborne). She did an exceptional job as guest host . Such a lovely , smart , knowledgable and well-spoken woman.
