Lawrence, Larson, Vikander, Stone - all solid to spectacular performances, I'd say.
Ranked: 1) Alicia Vikander - I feel like I like this performance a lot more than most. Yeah it's blatant category fraud and she shouldn't have won Supporting, and yeah the film's extremely average, but she's fantastic in it.
2) Emma Stone - insane amount of charisma and energy, as well as genuine depth. Sometimes feels like she's playing herself, but generally a stunning performance.
3) Brie Larson - just very solid work. Not especially off-the-charts fantastic except for one or two scenes, but it's still got loads of raw humanity that makes it hard to forget.
4) Jennifer Lawrence - quite easily my least favourite of the four, as she doesn't always capture the complexity and nuance of the character. Still, it's a terrifically vivacious and confident performance.

1. Emma Stone. An utterly luminous performance relying on great charisma, control and God-given talent. La La Land is a fine film, but Emma Stone is perhaps its greatest asset, and it's the sort of barnstorming delight you can't help but appreciate and reward.
2. Brie Larson: A wonderfully shattering turn that perfectly complements that magnificent work of her young co-star, and more than worthy when she's on her own.
3. Jennifer Lawrence: A very fun, exuberant performance that nevertheless edges a bit towards overcooked at times. It is not the sort of performance Lawrence really needed to make her mainstay, but rather should've been a nice departure from more internalized work. She had no business beating her four vaunted co-nominees, though; that was the strongest group Best Actress had seen in fifty years, and had Lawrence been subbed for Cotillard or Ann Dowd, it would've been the best lineup in any category ever.
4. Alicia Vikander: She tries, but there's no saving that atrocity. For anyone to see both that and Ex Machina and think she was worthier in The Danish Girl . . . it boggles the mind.

They're all pretty good, but not much more.
1 Stone (who I at least nominate, although she's #5 so only just) 2 Larson 3 Lawrence 4 Vikander

Wouldn't really call Larson an "ingenue" performance. She was young, but the subject matter was way too heavy for that label.

I'd have Vikander first, and Larson last. Not sure about the other two, both are very good.

Larson >>> Stone > Vikander > Lawrence
Stone is magnetic, Vikander is soulful even when the movie is utterly underwhelming, Lawrence is incredibly charming although Larson's work is already among the all time greats for me.

1. Stone Absolutely luminous work from one of the best actresses of her age group. Bonus points for being the only one of these four who's capitalizing on her awards success to work with interesting directors and carve out a solid filmography for herself. 2. Larson Lovely. 3. Lawrence  It's a very good performance, though not quite good enough that it should win over Riva, Chastain and Wallis. 4. Vikander Would be higher if she'd won for her right 2015 performance. Minus 10 points for the blatant category fraud, minus 100 points for being the reason why the abomination that is The Danish Girl is an Oscar-winning film.

Vikander first, is the completest to me, where even the slightest move indicates who she is, she’s grear even though it was her 3rd best performance that year.
Stone. She had a huge task in front of her, paper thin character that she manages to activate through her charisma and endless facial expressions, nothing wrong with that but... I thought there would be more
Lawrence. Never liked her dinner scene but that aside, she’s very good
Larson. Zzz

Love all of them minus Vikander, who I still probably like more than most (apart from the production/costume design, she's the only thing about Danish Girl that works).

Lawrence Larson Stone Vikander (had it been Ex Machina the same year she'd be on the top of my list)

1. Lawrence 2. Larson
3. Stone
not seen Vikander
Though you could also change Larson and Lawrence. Both were fantastic. Stone was very good as well, but not on their level.
