First, I'd say "all-time bad movies" is a blind spot for me, I've seen a couple of Ed Wood films and though were charming and full of conviction, but that's about it.
So now I saw The Room for obvious reasons but honestly I don't understand the cult surrounding it, it might be one of those cases where is more about the story around it that what's on screen because while watching it I was thinking that is equally bad acted, filmed, dubbed and extremely conservative in its themes and short on vision as any of the rom-coms that my country produce on a weekly basis.
So, if anyone's a fan, where's the trick for you ?

It's so oddly surreal and unlike anything I've ever seen. It's fascinating; like studying something completely alien and detached from humanity. I love it. Probably one of the most entertaining, funny, and quotable movies ever.

Put it this way - I've watched it 3 times and there are plenty of Bergman films I've seen once.
That has to count for something

I've seen bits and pieces from it, never watched the whole thing. I don't know, I saw a pretty decent amount of "so bad they're good/interesting" movies (which typically are just as awful as their reputation suggests) four or five years back, and this just seems like more of the same. Not really my thing.
The fans of this movie should watch Things (1989) if they want to see something really fucking bizarre.

Tommy Wiseau, sitting in his chair with his fingers intertwined behind his head, eyes closed and laughing at any idea we might have of logic, human behavior, cinema or anything making sense.

It's shit and no matter how many midnight shows and how many spoons get thrown at the screen will change the fact that it is just that-- shit.

It is pretty bad. But I grew up on brazilian comedies, mexican soap operas and bad CW shows, so when I finally watched The Room earlier this month, it had no effect on me. It is laughing-out-loud bad, it's ridiculous, but I just don't get why this one got the cult following and not the every-month brazilian comedy, and I find it to be cringe-worthy how some people go out of their ways to justify that The Room is some sort of life-altering, culturally important movie.

There are bits of it I find humorous, but I’m siding with fish. I get far more enjoyment out of people reacting to the movie than I do watching the movie.

Excruciatingly tedious, annoying, and creepy. If you've ever said "Oh hai, Mark" in casual conversation, not only are you not funny, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I saw it in a theater with an enthusiastic audience doing call back stuff, which helped. The "classic" moments are very unintentionally funny (the football scene, "How's your sex life?" exc) but by the end I was just bored and glad it was over. More so bad it's bad than so bad it's good.
Since everyone is bringing up alternative favorite bad movies, I'll recommend the 80's straight to VHS action movie Deadly Prey. It's hard to find, but it should be viewable somewhere on the internet. Anyway, it's so deliriously stupid it had me laughing out loud from beginning to end.
Here's a long fan trailer that covers the best moments-

You all conform to group think and made a consensus for what is good and bad. The film is pretty solid. I don't know what you are all going on about. Bad movie? How? I mean I suppose theres some things that could have been handled better but the movie is pretty fascinating so I'd say it is good.

I'm not sure why the majority of people agreeing a film is bad automatically means they're conforming to group think, that doesn't really make any sense. That's no different from saying everyone only likes The Godfather to be conformist, which is an enormous (and very negative minded) assumption. A completely baseless one, I might add. And though I'll ultimately reserve any real judgment as I haven't seen the full movie, I don't think it's THAT hard to see why The Room is generally derided by a lot of people as being an awful film, just like it isn't hard to see why people love the goddamn Shawshank Redemption so much, even if I personally got nothing out of it. Or for an even better example, I'll probably never watch Top Gun but I can imagine why some people would enjoy it. And besides, half of the people in this thread are praising the movie.

I am referring to people who love it and are saying the film is terrible. That's quite different because nobody says "I hate The Godfather so much but it is a great film". Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I just don't buy into objectivity of quality and I don't like hypocrisy. Those only hating on it and nothing more have my respect just fine.

Oh, I misread your post then. I completely agree the quality of art is entirely subjective.
