Blade Runner 2049 was the biggest tech marvel of 2017 . and I'd give it nods for all of those other categories you listed as well.

Best Directed? Villeneuve. It's close as I would consider this the leading trio of director for this year (PTA, Gaudagnino, and others pending). I really appreciate what each of them pulled off, especially as they all feel like deeply personal films for each filmmaker that are true passion projects which exemplify how each man approaches cinema. Villeneuve's direction is a force to be reckoned with, though. His control over everything is masterful to the point of being almost Kubrickian, and the confidence with which he executes is mesmerizing.
Best Screenplay? Blade Runner 2049 for sure. Perhaps my favorite screenplay of the year. It's just filled with so many rich ideas and some of the finest character work of the decade.
Better Cinematography? Deakins hands down, as impressive as the other two are in this department.
Better Production Design? Blade Runner 2049. The sets here are just so varied and detailed. It feels like the same world as the original, yet the evolution of the last thirty years is clear, all the while allowing the film to have its own unique aesthetic that sets it apart from the predecessor. The Shape of Water is also exquisite in this department, but the charming period sets don't quite hold a candle to 2049's vision of the future.
Better Editing? Dunkirk wins for having the most unique approach and pulling it off superbly.
Better Score? The Shape of Water. This could very well change once I hear Greenwood's work, but Desplat's score is by far and away my favorite of the year at the moment. That soundtrack is basically musical imagery in and of itself. I haven't heard that kind of texture and atmosphere in a film score in a long time. The other two are great here as well, though.
Overall ranking: 1. Blade Runner 2049 (current #1 of the year) 2. The Shape of Water (current #4 of the year) 3. Dunkirk (current #5 of the year)

Blade Runner for all. I'll do TSOW vs Dunkirk then:
Best Directed: The Shape of Water, but Nolan came close Best Screenplay: The Shape of Water Better Cinematography: Dunkirk. TSOW looks good, but I think it's way too obvious in its colour-scheme. Better Production Design: The Shape of Water. Better Editing: Dunkirk Better Score: Dunkirk's score is beautiful.
