Before I finalize my 2017 lineups, I'd like any recommendations for films that aren't getting the attention you feel they deserve. Foreign films and documentaries are welcome.

Thelma is in my t-10 for sure.
The Light of the Moon isn't that great, but features one of my favorite performance's of the year in Beatriz

Not obscure but Happy End while not quite a Haneke masterpiece is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than I thought it was going to be - 67% on RT, wtf?
Whatever, if you haven't seen it I'd definitely recommend. Makes my top films of the year I'm sure and it's ending is like a punch to the gut. Haunting, and corrosively funny, expertly conceived and played and it's heart (or lack thereof, maybe it's POV is a better term) is in the right place.
Haneke ftw.....

It's already been mentioned, but Columbus was a pleasant surprise. Haley Lu Richardson deserves much more recognition for her performance- I'd give her a nomination, but there's still lots I myself need to catch up on.

If I recall correctly you liked Tower a lot, I saw this year another hibrid like that called Tempestad it's also about the recreation of something that happened but the result is more like a memoir not a factual account of the events, last time I saw it was on netflix, and even though I haven't seen it I've heard wonderful things about I Am Not a Witch
