Over every other film of 2017?

It's not my favorite film of the year, so I guess by the strictest interpretation of your question, no. But I think it's a fine film that would make a worthy choice for Best Picture.

Heavens to Betsy, no!
But at the same time, it still wouldn't be my least favorite BP winner should it actually win.

I think it's ok, but nah.
A clever premise that doesn't really sustain, a one joke sorta thing - there have been 2 great horror films in recent years that didn't stand a chance at a BP nod of course The Witch and It Follows and Get Out isn't close to their equal.

I wouldn't mind if it won because it'd be such a change of pace, but no, there are plenty of films that are far more deserving.

As much as I like the film, no, it really doesn't. It's not even in my top 10 of the year anymore.

It's a good film but I don't it would make Best Picture among other stronger contenders.

Over every other film? No but still I loved it, and I'd be fine with its win.

It's a solid horror flick (which is extremely rare these days...) but I think it's laughable that it's somehow has become such a major contender. In my books, it's not even deserving of being nominee, let alone a top 30 contender. Kaluuya is very good though, makes my line-up and would be a very inspired choice, there are some nice directing choices (the hypnosis/sunken place) but I thought the tone was very off (the best friend comic relief felt like it was from a whole different film) and I didn't find it particularly suspenseful or scary. I certainly shudder at the thought of Get Out being a best picture nominee (let alone winner!!!), while Rosemary's Baby and The Shining weren't nominated.

It's a fine film and wouldn't be an egregious winner or anything, but yeah, no. It's already out of my top 10 (maybe top 15) and I haven't even seen any of the main contenders yet other than this and Dunkirk. I wouldn't even really be on board with a Screenplay win.
With that said, though, a horror comedy released in February written and directed by a TV comedian winning Best Picture would be super refreshing, and only serve to further demolish the notions of what an Oscar film is supposed to look and sound like, so that'd be an upside.

Contrary to what some people around here say, it's a great film. It wouldn't be a bad choice for best picture at all.

For me no. There are massive logic flaws that prevent it from being an effective thriller and/or a social critique.

I really liked it when I first saw it and I'm liking it more with time. I don't know if on later reflection it'll be my favorite film of the year (it currently isn't and I have a shit-ton to see), but I would like to see it win.

I fairly enjoyed it and it is a solid 8 for me. But since I gave some movies - that are also in the running for the Oscar - a better grade, I would have to say no. It has an interesting premise, a good script and it is executed quite well. Yet the last third feels quite rushed and it is the slasher element Peele didn't really ace, in my opinion. Is it one of the most important and relevant movies of 2017? Definitely! Would I mind seeing it win therefore? No? Is it the best movie of 2017? No.
