I'm glad you're still obsessed with me but I only watched Wonder Woman, Blade Runner and SW (for free) this year that can be considered as Hollywood fodder. I loved that you omitted my point on working-class women. ...I don't really know who you are, though. I didn't omit your point because there isn't one. They made sure the entire night revolved around women standing up against abuse and inequality, not in just in Hollywood but in general (criticizing the wage gap multiple times, hyping up the Time's Up initiative). If they don't care about any of those middle class women and are just using the cause to self-congratulate and save face for the cameras, then until you prove that you yourself are actually doing something concrete to help them, you're just doing the exact same thing, bringing them up here because it's convenient for your argument and makes you look socially conscious. You're free to think you're above all this narcissism and the bullshit fodder Hollywood puts out (thanks for clearing up that you saw Star Wars for free, I wouldn't DARE suspect you'd PAY to watch that!), but at the end of the day you're still in a forum specifically created to discuss Hollywood awards debating a ceremony you weren't obligated to sit through but apparently did. You yourself created a whole thread about Margot Robbie's chances and wrote several paragraphs analyzing the race, so don't pretend that you're not invested in the exact narcissistic culture you think you're calling out. You and the guys who are ~totally above all this Hollywood shit and ~celebrating the implosion of Hollywood still get your panties in a bunch whenever your Hollywood movies (Nolan isn't Bela Tarr, y'know) don't win Hollywood awards handed out by Hollywood fakes. You care. If you didn't you wouldn't be here. The SAGs are on January 21st. Save the date, see you then! >I didn't omit your point because there isn't one. If they don't care about any of those *middle-class women and are just using the cause to self-congratulate and save face for the cameras, then until you prove that you yourself are actually doing something concrete to help them, you're just doing the exact same thing, bringing them up here because it's convenient *to your argument and makes you look socially conscious. I'm not entirely sure if this part made a lot of sense. Am I doing the exact same thing as them by bringing them here to make myself look socially conscious? Even if that wasn't my point at all, as it was to speak out against Hollywood hypocrisy. They still haven't really shown any concern for your everyman. They are self-congratulating. As a statistical sport. Not a glossy, campy event that takes itself and its trite politics too seriously. To the point, hardcore centrists defend it over criticisms online. I don't pretend to be above anyone. It seems pointless to do so. The sports prognostication industry is huge. However, that doesn't mean all of them are supporting whatever exploits or celebrations star athletes may be associated with. The cryptomarket is fun and engaging. That doesn't mean I'm directly supporting the douchebag who made Dogecoin happened. >You and the guys who are ~totally above all this Hollywood shit and ~celebrating the implosion of Hollywood still get your panties in a bunch whenever your Hollywood movies (Nolan isn't Bela Tarr, y'know)(?) don't win Hollywood awards handed out by Hollywood fakes. My favorite film of the year has barely even seen by those Hollywood fakes, who as an industry collective, should be doing their work instead of circlejerking over Sorkin's politics (in 2018 lol). Name dropping Bela Tarr is really cute. We get it, you watched Satantango. >You care. If you didn't you wouldn't be here Read my post above. It's very interesting from a prognosticating point of view. And I tend to like film. >The SAGs are on January 21st. Save the date, see you then! Check. Let's hope that by then you don't seethe at all. Anger is bad for both mind/body.

Franco blocking Wiseau was funny but actually kind of a dick move. Yeah after watching that moment in rerun, I'm not too sure if that moment was supposed to be stage between them beforehand or not...

I have no problem with what Franco did. He was nice enough to invite Tommy up there, and he gave him the friendliest possible push. There was no reason for Tommy to say anything.

Yeah, I take back what I said. It was his award, not Wiseau's.

He barely had enough time to say what he wanted as it was. It was his moment. All things considered, I think he handled Tommy potentially hijaking his moment to plug The Room again pretty well.

Definitely seems like they loved Three Billboards. Curious to see what the academy votes. Aside from Oldman, all of the acting categories are really up in the air. I'm actually surprised by the number of wins that film and crew members earned. The Academy could be strong for it now. I do agree with you about the acting catagories. I think the film really appealed to them. I was surprised by some of its win too, but it's been a strong contender for a while now, so I guess it really was to be expected.

...so they brought out Wiseau only for Franco to physically block him from saying a single word? I imagine he thought he’d have more time to make a speech. I see nothing wrong with what he did.

Happy for Guillermo Del Toro
BTW where's the total list of winners?

Reese introducing Oprah was horrible. Why her? Why not a black person, like Ava DuVernay, who was there in attendance? It was cringeworthy heading Reese’s speech. She tries so hard to be funny when everyone didn’t laugh at all.
Seriously, why is this untalented POS still allowed a career?

WEll pretty standard awards without many big surprises in the film categories.
Personally I thought Dafoe would come in over Rockwell , Robbie over Ronan but the outcome how it happened on the end is rather not surprising either.
Oh well. Here's to hope for more surprises and twists to come.

Why is Laura Dern winning anything over Shailene Woodley? She wasn't that good. Because : 1/Unlike Woodley , Dern is definitely a supporting character 2/ Her performance is absolutely brilliant Shailene is incredible as well and gives the best performance of her career but she's definitely a leading character.

Now who's stalking. Maybe she is a lead but she's in the supporting category and she was better than Dern yet Dern is winning everything and got in at SAG as well where it's lead, supporting and guest all in one.

So I guess the SAG members thought Dern gave a better performance than Woodley after all . SAG have already nominated supporting performances in the leading category before and vice versa . Life isn't always fair . Deal with it . Now who's stalking.

I'm not sure if this should go in the scandals section or not, but I hope this turns into something more. Probably not, but since I didn't win either of the big lotteries over the weekend, I have to wish for something else now. Tessa Thompson Says Lena Dunham Wasn't Involved In the Time's Up InitiativeYet she showed up for the photo op the day before the Globes and tried to act like she was a part of the group.

It's ironic that these Golden Globes were suppose to be about "anti discrimination" "anti assault" etc. yet they reward Gary Oldman. Why?

She has a film with Oprah that will be released this year , yeah it's fucking ridiculous but more ridiculous is the star of Fifty shades of Darker presenting Call Me By your name , why not Neil Patrick Harris? Reese is white and Johnson is straight. That’s a higher priority for them.
