Is Barbra Streisand physically capable of presenting something without making it about herself? McDormand's speech was an 11/10, though.

Three Billboards...YES!!!!!!
Would love the same results at the Oscars, GTD for Director, Three Billboards for Screenplay, Picture, Actress, and Supporting Actor.

What a horrible show. I'm glad Hollywood is going down the drain It's hilarious that they masturbate over their own self-importance. You tell them about the stories of millions of women assaulted in the workplace and they wouldn't bat an eye on it. They would rather just win 10 more millions than Chris Hemsworth.

Three Billboards sure, but c'mon Shape of Water. I thought Shape of Water would be set for that win too. But it was a tough call.

I have no idea what to predict. There are a lot of great contenders and it could go in a lot of directions so this is honestly pretty exciting. But I’d love to see Best Motion Picture (Drama): Three Billboards Outsing Ebbing, Missouri Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy): Lady Bird Best Actor (Drama): Timothée Chalamet- Call Me By Your Name Best Actress (Drama): Frances McDormand- Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Best Actor (Comedy): James Franco- The Disaster Artist Best Actress (Comedy): Saorise Ronan- Lady Bird Best Supporting Actor: Willem Dafoe- The Florida Project Best Supporting Actress: Laurie Metcalf- Lady Bird Best Director: Guillermo Del Toro- The Shape of seater Best Screenplay: Martin McDonagh- Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Damn, I was shocked how many of my wishes went my way. And with Best Supporting Actor, Dafoe and Rockwell were basically a tie for me and I've loved Rockwell and I've been dying for him to get mainstream recognition since Moon came out in 2009 so I'm pretty happy either way. And I haven't seen Darkest Hour or I, Tonya yet so I'm not upset about their wins either since I can't judge their performances yet.

So I've missed James Franco's Disaster Artist win. I think he really earned that for his spot on portrayal of Tommy Wiseau.

It's ironic that these Golden Globes were suppose to be about "anti discrimination" "anti assault" etc. yet they reward Gary Oldman.

I loved that you omitted my point on working-class women.

And now how is commenting on screen acting narcissism edgy? Maybe that word has truly lost its meaning.
Might as well call Iñarritu edgy as well and he has 5 Oscars.

Aside from Oldman, all of the acting categories are really up in the air. I'm actually surprised by the number of wins that film and crew members earned. The Academy could be strong for it now. I do agree with you about the acting catagories.

So did the Globes not pick The Shape of Water due to the fact that they don't know if it will score bp nod? They seem to go with the safe bet. To give the movie that many nods but a win in best director only?

That was a tad too predictable with no genuine surprises after Rockwell, but I'm pleased with a lot of the winners. I'm not huge on Three Billboards, but we could have far worse films in the frontrunner's seat at our awards shows, and I'm over the moon about Frances and will root for her regardless. I'm super excited for Lady Bird, del Toro, Desplat, and Franco. There are a lot of snubs I'm bitter about, but I'll get over it, it's all just a game.

I loved that you omitted my point on working-class women. ...I don't really know who you are, though. I didn't omit your point because there isn't one. They made sure the entire night revolved around women standing up against abuse and inequality, not in just in Hollywood but in general (criticizing the wage gap multiple times, hyping up the Time's Up initiative). If they don't care about any of those middle class women and are just using the cause to self-congratulate and save face for the cameras, then until you prove that you yourself are actually doing something concrete to help them, you're just doing the exact same thing, bringing them up here because it's convenient for your argument and makes you look socially conscious. You're free to think you're above all this narcissism and the bullshit fodder Hollywood puts out (thanks for clearing up that you saw Star Wars for free, I wouldn't DARE suspect you'd PAY to watch that!), but at the end of the day you're still in a forum specifically created to discuss Hollywood awards debating a ceremony you weren't obligated to sit through but apparently did. You yourself created a whole thread about Margot Robbie's chances and wrote several paragraphs analyzing the race, so don't pretend that you're not invested in the exact narcissistic culture you think you're calling out. You and the guys who are ~totally above all this Hollywood shit and ~celebrating the implosion of Hollywood still get your panties in a bunch whenever your Hollywood movies (Nolan isn't Bela Tarr, y'know) don't win Hollywood awards handed out by Hollywood fakes. You care. If you didn't you wouldn't be here. The SAGs are on January 21st. Save the date, see you then!

And if anyone had any doubt, Gerwig is getting in for Best Director.
