What an experience! The movie had a heavy theatrical feeling that was not quite my taste at times. However, the performances were sublime, highlighted by Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brandon.
Brando was intensely good. Brando's incredible acting made Stanley a very interesting, masculine character and incredibly sexy in the first scene with Leigh as well. His style contrasted with Blanche perfectly. Watching the two of them interact was such a delicious treat. Albeit, some scenes with Brando I felt just a tad forced (like his crying & yelling "Stella...Hey Stella...")
Leigh was in a league of her own. Her transitions between scenes during the two hours was awe-inspiring. Definitely the highlights of the movie for me. To be fair, this was partly because her character was so layered that allowed Leigh's talent to shine the brightest.
Vivien Leigh might just become one of my favorite actors in the Golden-era. After watching this, I will have to watch "Gone With The Wind" soon. I only heard great things about her legendary performance as Scarlet O'Hara.

Great movie. I actually prefer it by a good deal to Gone With the Wind, although to be fair I don't like that one nearly as much as a lot of people seem to.
