While I see their objective talent, I just cant think of the following as personal favorites.
For males, my choices would be Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. For females, Anna Magnani and Gena Rowlands.

George Clooney (not exactly an "all time great" but he's very respected in the industry) . He's been in some good to great films over the years but I've never been blown away by any performance (he seems to always play his same smug self in everything)

Well, I usually argue "level of great" and "modern era" - it's not that I don't warm to them, I just classify actors differently. But say in the post-Brando era (the modern era), Denzel Washington, on film, has been great like 5 times on film for me total......and the upper tier stuff is awesome indeed.........but it's still just 5 times or so for me........and in comparison, DeNiro and Pacino have been great like 20 times - 20 times for Godsakes - drop their best 5 and you still marvel at it (before their eventual slipping to some ghastly lows).
So with that in mind in modern times : Washington, Lemmon, Newman (and Duvall and Hackman) are just rated too high but I certainly warm to them and love them ...........much more than Spacey, Hanks, Freeman who are the same way, but they are a lesser group.

Gary Oldman. He's super talented and all, but most of the performances that people love him for I just find obnoxious and hammy.

Matt Damon (minus his performance in THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY) Since when is Matt Damon an all time great? Well , he's considered as one of the greatest actors of HIS generation , isn't he ?

By warm to do you mean, think they're bad or overrated?
I think Clark Gable is overrated. I've never been a huge fan of Sean Connery.
I think the biggest one is Audrey Hepburn. She had a fantastic screen presence but I've never thought of her as much of an actress. But she's given fine performances being a great personality.

Katharine Hepburn for me. I can't think of any others really because the all-time greats usually deserve their reputation IMO.

Montgomery Clift. I don't think he's a bad actor, but I never understand the fascination and love, especially around Movie Awards.

Probably not considered an all-time great, but Kevin Spacey. And not because of the scandal, I disliked him before that.

Montgomery Clift. I don't think he's a bad actor, but I never understand the fascination and love, especially around Movie Awards. Had trouble thinking of one, but he definitely applies. I almost always find him just okay. He has no business being compared to Brando as he so often is, IMO. Bette Davis might be one. Great actress, but not really a personal favorite of mine. I gravitate more towards K. Hepburn, who a lot of people seem to be naming.

Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks, They have done some really good work and have been Great on film on a few occasions however they are grossly overrated IMO, I like them both but they are not All Time Greats, They are Very Good actors.
