Glenn Close, Dangerous Liaisons Jodie Foster, The Accused Melanie Griffith, Working Girl Meryl Streep, A Cry in the Dark (Evil Angels) Sigourney Weaver, Gorillas in the Mist
My ranking:
1. Close 2. Streep 3. Weaver 4. Griffith
I've seen Foster's performance, but it has been so long ago that it's probably not fair for me to rank her...
My overall choice for the year would be Susan Sarandon for Bull Durham. Such sensuous, soulful work.

1. Weaver 2. Close 3. Griffith 4. Streep 5. Foster
A powerful top four . . . and then there's Foster.

Don't get the defacto preference of Close when Weaver and Foster were both better. But Weaver has been my win this year for quite a long time.

Of the nominees Foster (haven't seen Streep).
Overall I'd take Isabelle Adjani for Camille Claudel.
