I have one that I can think of off the top of my head - 2002 Best Actress: Isabelle Huppert in The Piano Teacher and Julianne Moore in Far from Heaven. I just can't choose between them!

Yes, three times. There's a Best Actor tie in 1964 (Sellers/Ustinov), a Best Supporting Actress tie in '84 (Kinski/Page), and a three-way tie in 1993 Best Supporting Actor (Jordan/Kilmer/Postlethwaite). In terms of my runners-up, it happens a lot more frequently.

No, but I will flip flop. The only time I want to give a tie and feel justified in doing so, is 2005 with Ledger and Gyllenhaal. I used to have Gyllenhaal win in supporting, but he's not really supporting, just a less important lead. In the end, I award Ledger.
But I do sometimes feel tempted to put same-sex co-leads in different categories if that means a win (something I try not to do since it's not really indicative of how I actually feel and feels like a major cop-out).
Whichever person you mention first in your ties is your real winner, anyways. Just Sophie's Choice it. Give yourself 30 seconds to choose. If you can't then the Nazis killed them both and your 3rd choice wins!!

Farrell and Rourke in '08, initially. I eventually said fuck it and flipped a coin.

I can't stand having ties, but for the longest time I flip-flopped on Hoffman for Capote vs Ledger for Brokeback Mountain. After 10 years I finally settled on Ledger, but it's still basically 1a/1b.
