It seems a bit intriguing so far.

I bet the real twist is that Portman did it to Isaac because he's in the more critically acclaimed Star Wars movies.

Meh. I'm underwhelmed.

Kinda like a "Pokemon gone wrong" movie. Portman trying to pull a Ripley was laughable. I liked what I saw though, some interesting stuff, and the score was pretty cool.

Meh the first trailer was better. I’ve hated trailers in the past for films I ended up loving. (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, Phantom Thread, etc as recent examples)

Garland is really the only reason I'm still interested in this

Looks alright. Seems like a monster film on surface but I bet it has some deeper meaning.

I refuse to see the new official trailer . The 1st teaser trailer has me intrigued enough and thats good enough for me. Trying to see this as cold as possible.

In all seriousness, if I'm confined to a bed and the only means of saving me is going into a dense "alien" jungle filled to the brim with shit that will kill anyone and anything, please don't send a group of 115 pounders who look to struggle with their guns. Just pull my plug.

Gonna hold off on this trailer. The first one sold me with how little it seemed to give away.

Yes many actresses have tried to step into the Ripley shoes but we all know there is only one Ripley and Sigourney sealed that deal in 1979. I do plan on seeing this though. Looks intense.

From everything that's been said about this movie on the backstages, I believe they're trying to sell the movie in this trailer as something it's not. Garland has said how this movie is very contemplative and less action-oriented, so I don't think the vibe of this trailer matches the one from the actual movie. Maybe that's why some people are saying Portman is a hack trying to be Ripley, 'cause this ain't no Ripley at all.

Didn't really get the Ripley vibe at all, unless you're going to say that about any sci-fi movie where a woman has a gun. From the little we saw she looked clumsy and inexperienced with the gun and seemed afraid anytime something strenuous happened. Considering the character is just labeled the "the biologist" I would think she's not a fighter under normal circumstances and probably just wants to save her husband or whatever. So she's probably "failing" at being Ripley by not trying to be her at all.

Damn right she isn't, but that actually makes sense -- It's all just marketing of course. Also, I heard some comparisons with 2001, I think it's gonna be something very inspired by Kubrick (much like in almost every contemplative sci-fi nowadays)
