Michelle Pfeiffer & Chris Walken - Batman Returns Denis Leary, Judy Davis - The Ref Good call on Walken-- I should have mentioned him as well. Also love the Denis Leary mention for The Ref. I feel like Judy Davis is the only one to ever get praise for that movie.

Willis and Rickman - Die Hard. Michael Caine - Muppets Christmas Carol. Sarah Jessica Parker - The Family Stone (awful, awful movie... but she's really good in it). Jimmy Stewart (you know the one)

It's probably one of top 5 favorite comedies, and one of the best films of last decade. Kilmer and Downey Jr. are so damn great in it. New movie to watch around Christmas time now along with Die Hard and It's a Wonderful Life! To answer the thread, the penultimate is James Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life, of course, but I've always loved Bruce Willis in Die Hard as well. Probably my second favorite performance of his behind The Sixth Sense.

Jimmy Stewart in both It's a Wonderful Life and The Shop Around the Corner.
I guess I'll mention Pfeiffer in Batman Returns since other people are saying her but I don't really consider that a Christmas movie.

Edmund Gwenn was so good as Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street. I'm so glad he won an Oscar for that performance. I forget it when I think of my favorite supporting wins.

Would also add Frank Morgan from the same film to the list. He was so damn good.

Just watched this film last night for the first time and I absolutely agree. He was completely heartwarming. Can't imagine anyone else playing Santa better.

Just watched this film last night for the first time and I absolutely agree. He was completely heartwarming. Can't imagine anyone else playing Santa better. He is the best Santa Claus. He played him with a little mystery and a little twinkle in his eye. I first saw this movie when I was the age Natalie Wood was in this film, but now that I recently rewatched it with my family, I appreciate his performance even more.

Sinbad - Jingle All the Way. When the "bomb" is revealed to just be a music box, it never fails to make me laugh how sincere he sounds when he says "I'm sorry. I've been under a lot of pressure since the Zip-Plus-4 thing."

Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge. I would label it as his best performance.
