White Palace. Marvellous performance, marvellous film, terribly underrated... Agreed.... And I usually don't like the rom-drama genre but this one is done so smartly (it's both sexy and kinda sad and its themes of class and age are woven in really well) and both Spader and Sarandon are terrific. Trivia: this was offered to Scorsese and he was considering it but then Goodfellas was greenlit and he moved on. Completely tangential but if Wolf of Wall Street was made in 1990-92 (it wouldn't be but still) Spader would've been perfect for Jordan Belfort.

I haven’t seen enough movies to indicate one (although SLV is a pretty good pick), but he’s a massively talented actor who for some reason didn’t find the amount of success he would deserve.

I disagree, considering he won 3 Emmys in 4 years against much better competition (Gandolfini for Sopranos, Ian McShane for Deadwood, Kiefer Sutherland for 24, Martin Sheen for The West Wing), and afterwards had an even more successful show, not to mention had an acclaimed performance in a major blockbuster. He also doesn't seem to be much interested in making films anymore, so hard to give him an award for one.

Lincoln. The only exciting part of that boring film.
