In a 90s adaptation, perhaps? What do you think?

In the 90's ? No , not really .
In the 90's :
CAROL : Jessica Lange
THERESE : Irène Jacob

I'd rather see Theron and Ricci for a Monster Reunion where they are looking good, rather than homely and unkempt

Ok now you're just stealing my past posts.
And I don't think the film would've needed to have been made in the 90s in order for Thurman to be an appropriate Carol. I actually think she's much more suited for it now.

I actually think she's much more suited for it now. I have to agree. Uma would have been a fine choice for Carol now, but in the 90's? Nope. For the 90's, my first thought for Therese was Winona Ryder, but no clue on who to cast as Carol...

I'd rather see Theron and Ricci for a Monster Reunion where they are looking good, rather than homely and unkempt Church! In fact, I would have probably loved Ricci more in the type of role that Mara played than the one she played in Monster.

No, I don't like that idea at all. Thurman doesn't have the grace to pull off such a classy character. Lange and Bassiger were mentioned. I like those choices, but I think Glenn Close and Winona Ryder around 1992 would have been a good fit. Who would direct though?

Uma, yes, but Christina Ricci, while I like her, is all wrong for Therese.

Julianne Moore and Mia Wasikowska are my alternatives.
