Well, that was absolutely incredible. No idea how I would even try to go about writing a review, so I'll just ramble a bit.
I was utterly floored by the look and feel of this totally bizarre, yet strangely moving foray into memory/dreams. I can't remember the last time a movie has blown me away after one viewing like this. This was the first from Guy Maddin I've seen, and now the rest of his filmography is a top priority for me. I'm not sure if I'll rate this a 9 or 10, but right now I'm honestly leaning towards a 10 (and I'm a pretty harsh rater).
Anybody else seen this? Thoughts? Where to next as far as Maddin's work goes?

I watched it like 6 months ago, and I thought it was an absolute masterpiece, but over time I kinda forgot about it. My rating went from a strong 9/10 to a 7.5/10 without even rewatching it (although now I'm more leaning toward an 8). I still think it's a very passionate, creative and genuine work of art. I should really give it a rewatch.
As for Maddin in general, the only other film of his I've seen is The Heart of the World... which is one of my favorite short films. The style is very similar to BUtB, but I think it works a lot better in a much shorter format.
