Dunkirk The Shape of Water Darkest Hour Call Me By Your Name The Last Jedi
Although I'm very unsure about leaving Carter Burwell's Three Billboards out.

With so many big contenders in the mix, I heavily doubt the music branch will go with "It". Also I don't think there's anything in that score that will make the fellow composers go gaga over it enough to nominate it.
My predicks:
- Darkest Hour - The Shape of Water - The Post - Wonderstruck - Dunkirk
I wonder if "Dunkirk" doesn't end up being disqualified tbh. Also "The Las Jedi" has a great shot here (and it's not like they haven't nominated Williams twice in one year before), "Coco" seems like a solid contender too.

Dunkirk The Shape of Water Darkest Hour Call Me By Your Name The Last Jedi Although I'm very unsure about leaving Carter Burwell's Three Billboards out. "Call Me By Your Name" doesn't have an original score, so I guess that's your way to put Burwell in your predictions

Darkest Hour Dunkirk The Shape of Water Phantom Thread The Post
Really hoping for Blade Runner 2049 to crack it, but I can only have one personal passion pick, and I'll be damned if Greenwood gets snubbed again.

No one is predicting Victoria and Abdul? It won the Hollywood Film Award, and it was composed by Thomas Newman, who keeps getting in almost every year... It's definitely in with a shot but winning a Hollywood Film Award doesn't really mean anything.

No one is predicting Victoria and Abdul? It won the Hollywood Film Award, and it was composed by Thomas Newman, who keeps getting in almost every year... I thought about it, but I don’t know what to take out to make room. And on top of that, I see it suffering the same forgotten fate as The Judge. Even Passengers and Saving Mr. Banks were still fresh in their minds. With so many big contenders in the mix, I heavily doubt the music branch will go with "It". Also I don't think there's anything in that score that will make the fellow composers go gaga over it enough to nominate it. I can see that, but I think the film is popular and well-liked enough (at least, outside AMPAS, don’t know how they reacted) to gain traction. And while it isn’t anything groundbreaking, it’s still a really good, really eerie, and really effective horror score. It’s conventional and easily digestible, and I can picture some flocking to its gothic atmosphere. And they’ve shown they aren’t afraid to make room for a surprise “welcome to the club” inclusion, and I think this is gonna be that.

Darkest Hour Dunkirk The Post (maybe Star Wars if The Post underwhelms) The Shape of Water Wonderstruck (which is IMO, the best of the year and the best scoring achievement of the year)
