This isn't a game, and I think that's why I wasn't immediately embracing it. This is a story that relies on small subtleties in the experience, in small character moments shared while walking through the city, in a movement of Joel's hand to his watch that tells you everything that he is thinking at that moment.
This isn't a game. It's a work of empathic art. And I have no time to geek out over it, because I'm heading to work right now... but wow, man.
Giraffes. Damn those giraffes.
"I wanted to be a wife so that I could have been her real mother. I wanted to be a boy so that she could be in love with me. I wanted her to be my full sister instead of my half sister. I wanted her to be a slave so that I could set her free and make her rich."
