I haven't heard a spot of buzz for Pike.... and why not!

Looks really good. We should start predicting Bale and Pike, no?

Looks really good. We should start predicting Bale and Pike, no? With an unknown distributor and how uncommercial the film is... I wouldn't bet on either of them happening.

Rooting for Rosamund, forever and ever.
This looks pretty strong overall.

so happy to see Wes Studi in a significant role again, but I'm still not convinced. The first teaser felt much tighter and atmospheric while this one focuses more on the story (that doesn't look so interesting frankly). And we still have Cooper's mediocre track record to contend with. He's very talented at taking compelling ideas and gritty settings and turning them into nothing memorable.

I would hope this could be another great western.
Also Rosamund Pike looks indeed very good.

I’m really excited. Hopefully the film will give Wes Studi a lot to do.

I've seen it already, it's not bad. Very low-key western.

Being "uncommercial" has little to do with awards these days though. That aside, neither should get nominated, since the movie's probably not going to receive great reviews.

That aside, neither should get nominated, since the movie's probably not going to receive great reviews. Box office is important for certain kinds of films in terms of its awards chances (I would be more confident in Blade Runner's chances, for instance, if it had performed better), so the fact that this is an uncommercial western is definitely a mark against it.

Only if it's a sci-fi film. Hostiles is a lower-budgeted western. I don't think it's going to get nominated for anything though.
