i honestly think most films i've shilled super hard have a couple people on here that have seen it, or i heard about because it was some obscure shit someone told me about
i don't think anyone on here has seen Alien Beasts, Amour Fou, Guns of the Trees, Secret defense, or Route One USA of recent things i've liked a lot

My inner anime nerd is gonna come out in force here, but I saw this film a couple of months ago and nobody else seems familiar with it... and the more I look back on this movie, the more I adore it.
The film is Madoka Magica: Rebellion. It's a sequel to the TV series Madoka Magica, which had no business getting a sequel. But it has all of the quality I associated with the show, and it was in no way an unnecessary cash grab; it expanded on the themes and makes a case for being a vital continuation of the tale.
I've nerded out about it elsewhere, so I'll just leave this Letterboxd review of the show:
"imagine sticking your hand in a blender and no matter how hard you pull on your arm it doesn't seem to get out, and now imagine, your family, friends, peers, watching you suffer but nobody bothers to help you and you just have your hand swirling inside a fuckign blender."
