As part of a feature I did on my blog.I should also point out this isn’t meant to represent what we think the scariest movies of all time are, and this doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to movies explicitly about Halloween. Rather, this is simply about our personal favorites we think are perfect for this time of year. List away.

Corpse Bride Hocus Pocus Sleepy Hollow
There are several horror films that I consider all-time favorites, but they don't necessarily have the autumnal feel of the ones listed above.

The first Halloween movie is fantastic. It craps all over the other popular horror franchises from around the same time (Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th) because it holds up as good horror filmmaking. The others don't. They look so trash today.
Suspiria is my favorite scary movie, so I have to mention that.
Hocus Pocus is still a lot of fun. It doesn't matter how old I get.

Anything but John Carpenter's Halloween.

Halloween (1978) would be my choice, it is my favourite Halloween movie. I only watch it once a year, as a treat, on Halloween night usually.
Outside of that, my top Halloween thing, would probably be the Buffy episode 'Fear Itself'. I know it doesn't really count here as it's TV, but nothing outside of Halloween (1978) makes me feel more in the Halloween spirit (if that's a thing).
Also, side bar, Hocus Pocus sucks.

Also, side bar, Hocus Pocus sucks. Because you have no heart.

Also, side bar, Hocus Pocus sucks. Because you have no heart. That may be true, but Hocus Pocus still sucks

Hocus Pocus is a fine enough distraction.
My random votes go to Ghostbusters and The Conjuring.
