American Honey (2016) -- A steaming piece of shit. Every character but the protagonist is a paper thing stereotype, and that murders this movie: There is no reason to see why she's so emotionally attached to this way of life, because all of the people around her are so shallowly painted. And the whole "coming-of-age-through-hard-partying-hedonism" angle doesn't work for me at all, just makes me roll my eyes and wonder why anyone would live like that. 2/10
Allied (2016) -- Zemeckis is a horribly wrong choice for this material, but the script didn't do him any favors. I hate to say this, but the movie needed more setpieces. More individual scenes building suspense, to give a feeling of something wrong. The story is too straightforward for a spy film. On a side note: why were there lesbians in this movie? They were just randomly "there." No reason, and the presence of open lesbians in the Blitz really took me out of the picture. 5/10
The Eyes of My Mother (2016) -- It isn't scary at all, but it is suitably atmospheric. In retrospect though... that's all it has. The protagonist is an enigmatic creature that is interesting to watch, but impossible to care about. It feels like a really good student film stretched to full length. 6/10
Jackie (2016) -- A depiction of grief as nightmare that uses its unconventional narrative (bouncing back and forth between several different memories) to create a disturbing, special biopic that works on every level. And can I gush about how thrilled I am that Mica Levi got an Oscar nod? This type of music doesn't get into the very traditional music branch at the Oscars, and Levi totally deserved it. Amazing work. 9/10

The Lego Batman Batman - Fun, but it couldn't keep it up the "sugar rush" forever, kinda slow at point unfortunately, but I enjoyed it overall. 7.5 / 10
Pan's Labyrinth (rewatch) - 9.5 / 10
The Trouble With Harry - Had fun introducing this as my local library, and giving some facts about the production. Good movie too. A rare Hitchcock black comedy - 8 / 10
Murder On The Orient Express (1974) - 7.5 / 10 - Pretty good. Some awesome directing choices, great cast, and superb music. Hopefully the Branagh adaptation is just as good. That mustache is already legendary.
