Yeah, still not a fan of this title. It just sounds so lazy.
Hopefully the trailer is coming soon. We really need to start seeing the marketing roll-out for this movie. I'm getting seriously concerned that that release date might not hold up.

you're little late, Morton has posted that earlier dummy I thought it was something new, dammit I think you're probably joking, but it's okay, I repost things that others have already posted all the time often in the same thread that it was posted in. It keeps reminding me of a Scooby-Doo. I never realized until I first read the title how much I wan the ending to be the Scooby gang capturing DD-L's character in some kind of trap at the end, and them taking a mask off of him, and him saying "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids."

No doubt when I finally get around to watching this film I'll enjoy it, but I've yet to be able to muster any sort of enthusiasm for it. Perhaps the trailer will help.

I know I wanted to find a gif of the Billy Bob Thornton film, Mr. Woodcock, but I can't find any on giphy.com. I can only hope that there's a scene where DD-L's character tells old people to take laps especially since I don't think I'm getting my Scooby-Doo ending.

So, this is just a remake of Mr. Woodcock?

If I told my friends that "DDL's character in the new PTA film should be named Reynolds Woodcock" they would just laugh in my face. God bless Paul Thomas Anderson!!!

As a name, Reynolds Woodcock (and his sister, Cyril!) is purely Pynchonian.

Can't believe Sir Daniel Day-Lewis' final character will be named Reynolds Woodcock. I'm still thinking about this and it's just fucking awesome.

BOIIIIIIIIII!
Honestly costume drama isn't really my thing and this trailer didn't blow me away, but I'm so goddamn glad to have DDL back and re-teaming with the best director working today. He looks marvelous, as do the techs.

The only film I'm excited for, and that trailer did not let me down. Looks to be a story of a very intense relationship. I ofcourse, eagerly await any Daniel Day Lewis performance, but I also think the actress looks very good.

Well, there's our Costume Design frontrunner right there. I also think Krieps might be a Supporting Actress contender alongside Day-Lewis, and if the field's thin enough, Manville could be a contender. I also really love some of the shots (that eye close-up!). But it does seem as far away from what one would expect from a PTA/DDL collaboration as you can get, but the hints at darkness we see in this trailer make me excited to see what they've got hidden up their sleeve.

Btw, the "Fifty Shades" rumors seem like bullshit to me - the film is rated R for language. And that's it, no 'sexuality' or 'nudity' or other stuff. Maybe the nature of the relationship will be somewhat similar (just reversed) but obviously it's not gonna be a sex film of any kind.
