From IMDb: "A bawdy, acerbic tale of royal intrigue, passion, envy and betrayal in the court of Queen Anne in early 18th century England."
It's starring Emma Stone, Nicholas Hoult, Rachel Weisz as the scheming Sarah Churchill, and Olivia Colman as Queen Anne.
What do you think?

If Yorgos Lanthimos is behind it, I'm excited.

Lanthimos is tricky with me. I always find his premises promising, but his execution lacking. The performances in Dogtooth are appropriately visceral but I found its bleakness too forced and try-hard for my liking. The Lobster had a solid first half but the whole house of cards collapsed when Weisz showed up, and it became an interminable slog from that point on. I don't really have a desire to see The Killing of a Sacred Deer (but I still will), and while I love a good period piece and I adore Emma Stone/Olivia Colman, this could go either way with me.

It'll probably be Emma Stone's second movie that's actually good.

stephen - Emma Stone in a British period piece is so unlikely that I can't help but be intrigued (see also: Chris Pine in 'Outlaw King'). I'm really looking forward to seeing what these 'Mericans can do in unchartered waters - hoping they bring it.

The premise excites me (I do love me a good historical intrigue piece), and as long as it isn't another The Other Boleyn Girl, I don't mind if it's an American lead at all. Of the cast, Weisz is the only one who really gives me pause.

Considering I thought The Lobster was trash and I think The Killing of a Sacred Deer looks somehow even worse, it's really hard for me to get behind anything that Lanthimos does. Even despite the fact that this sounds like something I could totally get into.

stephen - I like Weisz, but Romola Garai reportedly killed this role on the West End stage... Wish she could have taken a stab at it in film version. She is so in need of the boost. Winslet was initially cast, but had to drop out due to 'Wonder Wheel' scheduling conflicts - not sure I really see her in this kind of role, either.

As of right now it's my most anticipated 2018 film, just slightly ahead of The Irishman.
