I loved "the hell out of it" or any of its variations (i.e. "I dug the hell out of it"). I probably say this for like half the movies I post lol

Although it isn't a phrase in particular, I do hate the nerve of some people to walk up and start a "conversation" just because I happen to be in the same room and not talking to anyone. Especially when those people invade my personal space by hitting me on the back or some other "friendly" gesture like I will actually welcome their presence. They just want to hear what they want to hear anyway, why must I verbally jerk them off. If you have something to say, then say it. If you're just being "sociable," don't bother socializing the guy that is actively demonstrating that he has no desire to engage with you.

i despise the term "neo-noir" with a passion, primarily stemming from the fact that noir itself is a localized film movement and not a genre which can be updated with the coming tides

I do both of these - but I hate myself for doing it and try not to..... * When people say / write the word "Period" - like "Vanilla ice cream is the best. Period" - A period is when you stop f'n talking, and declaring you've stopped is merely redundant and doesn't prove what you just said - rather it actually doubly weakens anything you said - by making you sound like a control freak and because it's unnecessary. Period. * "1000 percent" - It's 100 percent, there's not 1000 percent of anything - if there was I'd want at least 500% of that apple pie. People who say this a lot tend to be the same people that think the last movie they saw was "the best - ever" and things like that etc......

"Bro". I hate this with a passion. "Buddy". "We tell a story" or any of its variations. I find this very pretentious. No. You act/direct/write/do whatever it is that you do. "Fall in love with" something/doing something instead of someone. I cringe when I hear/read this. "Journey". I hate this word to the point that I have to think of some other word to use when talking about travels. "Dream", though I don't have a problem with this when it's used as an adjective (dream hunk, dream house or something) or when it transcribes the dreams you have when sleeping.
I also really hate positive shit like "never give up" and expressions in a similar vein.

It can certainly be used in an annoying way like in the ice cream example, but I don’t mind if people say it more as a way to indicate that what they’ve just said is (to them) the essential point that shouldn’t be lost in a discussion that gets sidetracked with specious rationalization or red herrings, and there’s nothing more to be said because that point is indisputable or unignorable. But yeah, the 1000% thing is dumb.

I just remembered something: using adjectives like male/female/black/gay as nouns.

Somehow this never gets old for me, and it always makes me laugh whenever I see it used to highlight something absurd.

Not a phrase but a thing - headlines that pose a provocative yet simultaneously insipid question within them that the article can't actually justify: (From Shitfork) : "How Kurt Cobain Dealt With Being The World's Most Famous Outcast"Um, I'mmina say "Not well" since he you know - blew his head off? Or by making a far lesser follow-up to Nevermind? Nowadays Shitfork does't just suck - the headline sucks.....from the article and I quote "The late Nirvana leader was a feminist, LGBTQ+ ally, antiracist, and champion of eccentric musical visionaries....." Oh STFU already.....also all those things may make you deal with everything badly and shoot dope I guess.....the headlne invites sick jokes .......it's self-parodic (From Vanity Fair) "Sarah Polley's Radical Vision For Women Talking"Radical? By taking everythng cinematic about it out entirely ya mean? Yeah..........pretty radical..... Women talking - endlessly - while often sitting - is more like it

I don't think I had heard the term "Nepo Baby" for my entire 246 years and now for some reason I've heard it 1,033,461,725 -times in the last week and a half.......is it because Jesus was a Nepo Baby or something and Christmas is a Nepo Holiday? Hate this term while possibly changing my screen name to Nepocino Baby to start with a clean slate in 2023.....

Like the annoying af "Nepo Baby" term ^ - the term "tripledemic" is simultaneously stupid, confusing and on some level utterly horrifying - like I don't have enough things to deal with I have to deal with a TRIPLE-demic

* Everything that knocks a short, used forever 2 syllable word down to a 1 syllable word: like 'za for pizza or totes for totally ........although I do say "fave" all the time and I maybe say 'Za in a multilevel ironic way....... so who am I to judge really? * The word "feels" ...........as in "that song gave me feels" - People who use this often (not always) don't feel anything at all tbh

Nowadays it's "why do you care so much?" - this is the new "Do you really want to die on that hill?" for idiotic fnckwads - like I said before in this thread No I don't want to die on this hill, I want you to come over from yours so we can live on a hill together......or rather it's the new sarcastic version of "thoughts and prayers" said (usually) by people who think they are too cool to ever humble themselves enough to actually have a thought - or a prayer - that doesn't involve themselves that is - and get off on mocking people who are so uncool as to have actually had such things as a thought or a prayer in the first place........ Fuck off..... People "care so much" about a lot of shit because they're people and have opinions / POV and stuff ......that is literally an argument or phrase used when you either can't rationally articulate a contrary POV or are too cool too stupid to have a POV in the first place anyway......it's literally sarcastic dumbfnckery that makes you feel hip about removing yourself from other people ......it's like a child saying "why?" repeatedly.....

"Major motion picture"
Who decides what a "major motion picture" is? Has anybody ever advertised their film as a "minor motion picture?" I'm so sick of seeing those words advertising movies, man.
