It might a pretty uninteresting year with Deakins probably dominating
1. Blade Runner 2049 2. Dunkirk
3. The Shape of Water 4. The Darkest Hour
5th spot either one of these: Mutder on the Orient Express Call Me by Your Name

I suspect Phantom Thread could make an appearance here, especially with the buzz that PTA is lensing it himself.

I think Call Me By Your Name will fill that last spot, but I would love to see PTA there As long as Deakins wins, I'm fine, what he did in Blade Runner 2049 was an all-time great achievement

there always seems to be left field nominees in the tech fields, but the locks are Blade Runner, Dunkirk, and Shape of Water. Darkest Hour looks really strong too, with Call Me By Your Name, Wonderstruck, and possibly Phantom Thread battling for that fifth spot.
Possible dark horses: (not predicting them at all but anything can happen) Mother! Three Billboards Lost City of Z Wonder Wheel
That about covers it. Murder on the Orient Express will be lucky to get away with a costume design nod but it'll probably fly under the radar completely. I don't see Breathe, Detroit, or The Florida Project having any clout in this category.

I'm not convinced Blade Runner will win. I'm actually pretty certain it won't tbh

I'm not convinced Blade Runner will win. I'm actually pretty certain it won't tbh I agree. Cinematography winners are usually BP and BD nominees. I don't even think it's getting a Best Picture nod anymore.
