I enjoyed "Criminal Activites" and "In a Valley of Violence" (as I usually do with Ti West stuff) and this one looks better than I've expected for sure. I will check it out. Even if it will suck, that's okay. The guy was in "Saturday Night Fever", "Blow Out" and "Pulp Fiction". So he gets a lifetime pass from me. I also kinda liked its poster:

John Trvolta being a badass Could be really good. And Stacey Keach is in it too ? Such an underrated character actor.

Horrible trailer, but yah, Travolta looks good.
Travolta should be calling his old pal QT for his next project though.

This has been in development since like forever? Isn't the budget like over 100m at this point. This is going to be bomb of epic proportions.

At least this time the movie being pulled isn't due to dick wagging. Never thought I'd have to say that.

I haven't seen it, but I can tell you it's an example of the idiocy of movie audiences that will kill Travolta for this. See, John Travolta, a guy who is not a special actor but has managed to be in some of the best movies ever made (Blow Out, Pulp Fiction) and the biggest movies ever made (Saturday Night Fever, Grease) AND some other good stuff (Get Short etc) - is a guy that in the public consciousness you can attack. He's out there -a guy you can take shots at in his real life AND he's made plenty of bad movies and we all know who John Gotti was and worst of all he's actually TRYING! - hahahah isn't that funny - he didn't just cash the paycheck, he's trying .............trying is so uncool!!
If I was a fan of Travolta I'd pay to see it 10 times in the theater before they pull it just as an act of protest.
GRRRR
What's my test for this.....well.......for the lead actor anyway - put Day-Lewis in it see how he does. I can sort of guarantee you he wouldn't come off well........and that snarky thing audiences or critics (UGH) have is really unbearable to deal with. I'm not comparing Travolta to anyone else, I'm saying when you start off wanting to see an actor fail...........you shouldn't.

I have a feeling this probably isn't close to as bad as this critical bashing would lead us to believe. I don't think it'll be particularly good all the same.

Yeah, none of the blurbs are going after Travolta, at least... most of them are saying it's cliche gangster fluff and without an original voice. And they all definitely don't like the fact the film ends with real life testimonials about how good a guy Gotti is/was. That itself was in at least half the blurbs.

Audiences love GOTTI! College student RAVES "Eh, it's no GoodFellas but whatev, it was okay, I guess." Middle-aged man we caught up with on the sidewalk DECLARES "Yeah, I saw Gotti. Gotta keep using Moviepass while I still can." Another random guy HAILS "John Travolta is a chameleon! ...No, really, he looks like a reptile." One guy getting a refill on his way out CHEERED "Yeah, I thought I'd bought a ticket for Tag and it wasn't until about 40 minutes into the movie I realized that I was in Gotti and since Tag would have already started by then, I just stuck around." Nicolas Cage PROCLAIMS "First Travolta took my face, now he's taking my track record."
