I liked it a fair bit.
It was fairly light, in so far as the story being told was really not a story that was worthy of a two hour run-time, but I did like all the questions and it had me asking and the fact that it didn't answer most of them, or possibly any of them. In particular it was cool that nothing was ever established about the origins of this place they've all been put in and at the end of the movie pretty much nothing had changed about this place either.
Obviously, the lightweight plot was pretty much secondary to the visuals, which weren't entirely ground breaking or completely fascinating, but they were always cool and interesting. I'm always a sucker for a good panoramic shot of a wasteland, so I was more than cool with the amount of those shots offered up.
The cast was solid, aside from the lead actress who I thought was pretty bad. This is my first experience of Suki Waterhouse and I'm not exactly hyped for my second. Also, it was nice to get to see Jason Momoa play Khal Drogo again...I miss Khal Drogo.

I already had pretty low expectations and it still wound up being pretty disappointing for me. I liked Suki Waterhouse and even Keanu Reeves had a scene that's probably the best acting he's done in a long while, but that still wasn't enough. The first act set it up for some awesome revenge tale, but then it just meandered through the next two acts instead, finally trying to end on some sweet note which made no real sense.
Regardless, I'm still hyped to see Amirpour's debut as I still haven't seen it yet. I'll probably watch it next month as part of my horror marathon.
