I fucking knew it! Amazing movie, I was seriously floored. Best dark comedy since To Die For. Dreading the inevitable Margot Robbie nom, but Allison Janney and the screenplay are winning and I'm here for it. Netflix has the highest bid for it, currently.

I don't think they'll go with Netflix if their main concern is Oscar nominations as Deadline reported. I could see them taking a smaller offer to ensure a better chance at an awards push. Though, if Netflix gets it, I still wouldn't write it off. I'd be a little more apprehensive about a Robbie nom, but Janney will be nominated and contend for the win regardless IMO. Netflix is bound to break through at some point and she's undeniable IMO. ETA. They almost managed an Elba nom in a film with low buzz, and I think she's a much more acclaimed and popular actress in the industry. She'll be fine.

"I felt embarrassed for the entire cast of #TheCurrentWar at tonight's #TIFF world premiere screening. Half the theater left."

I wonder if that means Mary Magdalene is moving up? I mean, what else has he got?

Surprised that reactions are this mixed, not so much that it doesn't stick the landing. Nightcrawler had a similar problem, following two impressive acts with a conclusion that felt disappointingly safe and toothless considering everything that preceded it. Still a very good film, though, and I hope this is more enjoyable than these reviews suggest.

I wonder if that means Mary Magdalene is moving up? I mean, what else has he got? That Intouchables remake with Bryan Cranston. He's giving that a qualifying run and pushing Kevin Hart for Supporting Actor. For real, he is.
