Michelle for acting, Halle for looks (because... well... look!), but overall I like Hathaway's version the best.

Haven't seen the films of the older 3 ladies, but based on photos... I'll say Newmar for looks.
For acting, based on what I've seen.... it's Michelle easily. (far from my favorite of her works though)
Hathaway is worthless for both, and I can't believe 3 people already voted for her performance. LOL. When did standards get so low?

Pfeiffer is the best Catwoman. Didn't think there was any debate about that.
Halle Berry is the most beautiful woman to ever play her, despite her movie purportedly being terrible.

Went with Julie Newmar for looks because she exuded sexuality as Catwoman and was able to do so while still being appropriate for a 1960s camp TV show. If I was just going off the actress or pictures in the costume, it'd be Halle but despite having one of the hottest women on the planet in a skimped-down Catwoman outfit, the film even managed to fail as sexual fodder.

Pfeiffer was the quintessential Catwoman hands down.
I'm quite fond of Hathaway's portrayal though (having been skeptical at first when she was cast), and thankfully she benefited from playing one of Nolan's better-written female roles... an interesting mix of femme fatale and resentful agitator against the 1%.

I also thought Hathaway was pretty good, I don't get all the criticism she gets for it. My expectations for her in the role were initially low since I thought she was miscast, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I almost went with Michelle Pfeiffer for both; although, it was tough for the looks department because both her and Halle Berry are two of the most beautiful actresses ever, imo. I had to go with Julie Newmar though who was a beauty too, but mostly because of you wrote. Unlike the film Catwomen, she didn't have as much freedom to sex it up, but she still managed to exude a lot of sex appeal especially when she'd capture either Batman and/or Robin, which was a big deal to me because of how campy the show was, that even the campiness couldn't dilute her sex appeal. Plus, we also got To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, and I don't think any of the other catwomen would inspire a film like that.

Pfeiffer, though I quite like Hathaway in the role, and Newmar was great as Catwoman too.
