Seems like they're really trying to pull people over. If you want a really easy way to move all your ratings and lists there, now is definitely the time to do it

They're awesome. I prefer them vastly over IMDb's inventory system.

That's great! I just joined last week, not used to the layout yet, how do I go about importing my ratings there?

I'm always getting a '502 Gateway Timeout' everytime I try to save my ratings list.

Whoa! I have never used Letterboxd, but with this new announcement I just might create an account on there.

So I just imported my ratings and it transferred some movies that I haven't rated on IMDB (The Walking Dead from 1936?? Huh?). And now it won't let me mark those films as unwatched.

I also don't like the rating conversions. A rating of 8 on IMDB for me could either be a 4 or a 4.5 on Letterboxd's scale depending on how much I liked the film. That distinction is lost in a mass transaction.

Yeah, there's nooooooo way I was going to go through and edit my IMDB ratings just to export them to Letterbox. IMDB's rating system only works in whole numbers but I still use .5 ratings, especially with 8 (which is the difference for me between 4 stars and 4 1/2 on a 5-star system)

I round up with Letterboxd. I rarely gave perfect scores on IMDB (I have like twenty 10 ratings) so all my 9's became 5's on Letterboxd. It's easier to give a perfect score when the score is lower.

Cool! I haven't used my letterboxd account in a year now, but now would be the right time to start using it again.

I assume it only works on a PC? I tried importing my lists through my iPad and it doesn't seem to be working. It wants to import through either iCloud, photo gallery or take video or photo.
