Capote's got to be such a fun character to play with the flamboyance and that amazing voice. Can't wait to see what Hollander brings to the role (maybe the Emmys can atone for snubbing him in White Lotus) but he's looking good so far, and ofcourse the ladies look amazing. I'll definitely check it out!

So this drops tomorrow. Any Swan MVP predictions? I'm going to say Calista followed by Demi.

Naomi Watts is getting career-best raves and MVP notices for this, which is especially impressive considering what a stacked list of stars this cast has. A selection of quotes:
‘Watching Watts as Babe Paley trying to navigate this betrayal is to watch an actor deliver career-best work in real-time. Not since her collaborations with David Lynch has Watts been so perfectly cast.’
‘Naomi Watts is arguably the standout of standouts as Barbara “Babe” Paley, who was Capote’s favorite Swan.’
‘…the storytelling is ultimately supplanted by the spectacle of watching the drama’s dazzling ensemble, led by an Emmy-worthy Naomi Watts.’
‘Naomi Watts is the series standout, giving her best performance in ages… Watts finds a perfect emotional register as a woman who has been hurt, but also sees the greater pain of her mortality on the horizon.’
Even the less positive reviews of the show praise her. It’s safe to say she will be an emmy contender for it!

Oh honey, is Chloë channelling Betty Bacall, who, incidentally, is said to have modelled herself on Slim Keith?
The ensemble acting is very good. Impressed by Demi Moore, who I've never rated, and touched by her little speech at the black & white ball.
Toby Young (Infamous) is still my favorite Capote.

Oh honey, I thought this one made her seem less vacuous.

If there's any justice, Tom Hollander will be in serious contention next awards season for this. I'll take his Capote over PSH's most days of the week.
And it absolutely pains me to say this, but NayNay did a wonderful job here, too. This is the most chameleonic, technically precise work from her I've seen in a great while. Despite Ryan Murphy's name on this production, overall it was surprisingly nuanced and high-minded. The word "feud" is a bit misleading in terms of what the series set out to accomplish.

I too was surprised by how much I liked Watts' performance... particularly over Diane Lane, who I love much more... but I didn't necessarily "get" what she was going for here? Watts and Sevigny were the Swans who compelled me the most, in terms of performance. Edit: Oh, and a complete co-sign on your assessment of Hollander as Copote. Heath Ledger should've been a two-time Oscar winner.
