I didn't think they'd top the teaser trailer, but goddamn. They did. As a die-hard fan of the novel, this looks like it's gonna be incredible.

Looks good enough . Not sure if it will be better than the 1990's version, though.

Looks good enough . Not sure if it will be better than the 1990's version, though. As well-acted as the '90s version is (and while Curry gets his deserved plaudits, the child acting cannot be overlooked; every one of them were aces), it's a pretty lackluster adaptation on its own merits overall. I never got the sense of Derry that the novel projects, and just from these trailers, I can see the cursed town much more readily.

True but it doesn't necessarily mean that this one will be an improvement. Remaking a culte horror movie is quite a risky task. ***FINGERS CROSSED***

I actually picked up the book recently and can't wait to read it. Chances are I'll try to read it before the movie comes out. I still prefer that terrifying teaser to this trailer, but this looks great.

That may seem like splitting hairs, but the novel has a wealth of content the original miniseries failed to tap into, largely because of ABC standards and practices, as well as its rather workmanlike style.

Everything looks pretty fantastic except Pennywise himself. To me he's just paling in comparison to Curry's unforgettable performance in the 90s version, especially with the gutter scene. There also seems to be a pretty big reliance on jump scares based on the trailer, which is a bit disappointing.
I'm still excited though, because it seems like they've really taken time and care to make a good adaptation here, laying the groundwork with the town and its characters. I read the book years ago when I was like 12 and loved it (would probably benefit from a re-read, but it's a fucking brick if ever I saw one), so I hope this can reach the heights of its source.

While I still wish Cary Fukunaga could've directed this, I'm pretty damn excited. I'm reading the book right now and loving it. I just hope it's not too reliant on jump scares. The atmosphere of Derry looks amazing!

Majorly put-off by the jump scares (I really, really hope the movie doesn't succumb to them), and I don't care for "You'll float too" in BWOOOMs. Looks creepy, though. Hopefully it'll be good.
Also, maybe it's because I haven't read the book, but what is it that any kids find charming in that frigging clown? If I saw one in the gutter, I'd have run like hell.

In that kid's defense he was 5. Speaking as someone who was 5 once, that would have scarred me. Maybe it's just the Annabelle thing for me. I seriously can't fathom people looking at these intentionally scary faces and thinking "Aww, that looks cute."

Annabelle has nothing on Chucky, ya'll. That fucker game me legitimate night terrors until I was 27.

Child's Play is meant to be comedic, and even the film acknowledges "Yeah, even in his 'cute' stage, this thing is fucking creepy." Annabelle's played way too sincere, on the other hand. Teddy Ruxpin is worse than them anyway.

I so hope it is as good as its buzz…. the book was awesome. I hope for a modern horror kind of Stand by Me thing...
