What are her Oscars chances ? Halle Berry has spent her entire post-Oscar career on cheesy b-movie thrillers and failed oscar bait similar to Monster's Ball where she's rescued by a white savior. She needs to accept that she's never going to be nominated again and try to find a quality tv series.

She needs to accept that she's never going to be nominated again and try to find a quality tv series. 1/ I thought Their Eyes Were Watching , Things We Lost In The Fire , Frankie + Alice , Cloud Atlas and The Call were good movies and I don't recall her playing a woman rescued by a white savior in those movies 2/ She made a lot of $$$$ thanks to the X-MEN films and DIE ANOTHER DAY and was very entertaining in them. 3/ I agree with the television thing. I think she needs to find a good TV show like Kerry Washington in Scandal , Viola Davis in HTGAWM or Taraji P. Henson in Empire . Women of her age (and race ) find more success in television nowadays. 4/ How do you know she'll never be nominated again ? NEVER SAY NEVER ! Who would have thought that Helen Hunt would be nominated again , huh ? 5/ She has 2 interesting movies comming out this year. I guess we'll see how it goes.

I think she should look into working with black filmmakers again, or at least start working in productions with black casts, film or tv. I don't think she has since the early 90's which is pretty strange. All of the black actresses currently doing better than her do a lot more to appeal to their core audience, but she seems to think settling for scraps from white Hollywood is better. I don't think she's talented but at some point you have to realize what you're doing isn't working and regroup.

I think she looks fantastic, and the movie sounds.... decent. Maybe it's not particularly original as a subject; but I just enjoy black people bitching each other out ..... don't ask me on that. As far as Oscar chances. I think they're really trying hard to get Bening and Chastain an Oscar - and it feels like to me that it's either one or the other this year and I have to live with that. And I hope Mulligan gets nominated because Mudbound looks like the most interesting movie of the year left - and I love southern rural family tales. That leaves.... 2 spots left. I certainly think Berry has a strong chance though. But it'll depend on where this film goes. I definitely think her work in Things We Lost in the Fire is the type that the academy would go for, but the film just never made much of an impact - and even though people at the time agree Del Toro was great and Berry was good but not at his level, nobody really remembers anything about that film anymore.

This looks good, but I absolutely don't think she has any Oscar chances for this. If anything this strikes me as a film that will go under the raider. Who knows at this point though.
